New Recall - Incorrect Monroney Label

Ran across an interesting new recall for 2017 Model Year Camaros. Anyone else affected? Or been contacted by GM?

You can see if your Camaro is affected by going to GM Recall Center and entering your VIN.

GM Recall Program: N162060510

Date Issued: Feb 07, 2017

Program Description: General Motors has discovered an inadvertent error in the Parts Content Information portion of the window label on certain 2017 model year Cadillac ATS and XTS, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, Cruze, Impala, Malibu, Silverado LD, and Sonic, and GMC Sierra LD vehicles, which displays US/Canadian Parts Content for the vehicle, and Country of Origin (COO) information for the engine and transmission on these vehicles. As a result, the label displayed incorrect parts content percentages and COO information for the engines and transmissions on these vehicles. GM will contact involved owners of the affected to notify them of the situation. This label error has no effect on the safety or operation of the vehicles.

Repair Description: Dealers are to affix a corrected new replacement label to the vehicle.

I have it but it doesn't seem like a very big deal. If I take it in for my lack of trunk light I may have it taken care of...

Yeah it's not a mechanical one so I'm not that concerned. Just found it odd to a be recall for something like this. I wouldn't mind a new/second window sticker.

Oh is it the window sticker? I thought it was the one on the door jamb that gives tire sizes or the build date lol...I found out through a random check I did on the my Chevrolet app, they haven't tried to contact me by mail or anything.

It's the window sticker, which is why I find it odd for a recall.

I always thought the Canadian thing was "eh" not "A".

(My apologies to our northern brothers and sisters. I just couldn't resist.)

Guess my information was correct?

Are some of the parts now being made somewhere else so they needed to update the parts content information? Or did they have the wrong numbers in 2016 also? My 2016 had 60% from US/Canada and 17% from Mexico.

Good question. Not sure yet, as I haven't had this recall done. I'm thinking the 2017 had parts sourced from other places after some of the issues with the 2016 models. Just my educated guess. The recall lists select 2017 models. Doesn't mention 2016 models.
