Procharger helical gear upgrade yay or nay?

As the title states is the upgrade worth it?

I don't have it, and the whine is only really noticeable with the hood up. When I fired up the car I had to tell my wife to listen for it. And for a woman that knows what a blower car sounds like, I was kinda shocked.

No helical gear = more noise = more cool points

That's how it works right?

That's what I thought! After having the car on the road for a few days, I've already had a few inquiries as to the whine. It's just a "stock" car...

i think the helical gears are more for the chatter at low rpms than the whine itself. We'll see when my helical d1 goes in

Helical for sure the chatter at idle with straight cut makes the car sound broken to 99% of people out there.

If I go that route I'd get them. Everyone is being a bit kind or I just happened to experience a bad case of the marbles in a jar every time I hear them at idle.

I would definitely do the upgrade. I got cheap and skipped it. To me, sounds like an aluminum can's vibrating through my dash. Still trying to get used to it.

The strait cut blowers can be a bit loud or "rattle" prone...
Some people love it, however others hate it.

I personally do the Helical blowers on all of my cars. (actually had the very very first one on my 1993 Cobra back in the day)

I think its the perfect "whine" to let people know its there.
Yet quiet enough I can't hear it in the car, and can order at a drive through without having to shut the car off.

I can certainly hear the Helical D1SC inside the car, even too much, I'm looking for ways to quiet it down!

I suppose that would find strait gears plain annoying.
