why not pro charge?

so dealing with my interior damage my car seems to me to be a track beast at this point the engine has been supercharged successfully in the c7 for years instead of worrying about perfect interior and such why not just super charge it and let it be a track car??? with moderate gains like 580 hp i always feel this car could have a ton more HP? it can handle it how risky is it to get a tune and CAI and pro charger with moderate gains

Weight. ProCharger will add about 120lbs to the nose.

When my warranty is gone, I'm going intake/heads/cam/headers. Add 100whp and 0 extra lbs.

I've seen a new ZL1 for sale as low as $54k and some change so it's more like $14-15k price difference. More expensive cars get better discounts since not so many people truly want or can handle that kind of power also the Corvette prices are also another determining factor since there are cross shoppers .All things considered it makes more sense to me than adding a FI on a motor that is not initially designed for it. (heat was even an issue with a small BRZ engine when I added even the coolest running SC option -Rotrex centrifugal type) Heat would be even more problematic with a V8 so no wonder Camaro team needed 11 heat exchangers to keep the temps in check.

I think it's 70-80lbs?
Anyhow 120lbs for 150hp is great, car isn't a featherweight you wouldn't notice it. Buy a light weight battery to offset it.

Why do so many people automatically jump to "more power" when they think of track cars?

Adding weight to the nose, and reducing weight in the back (battery) is a great way to negatively alter the weight balance...you would notice that, especially at the limit.

Someone mentioned cam/headers earlier. One of the great characteristics of the SS 1LE is that it has a naturally-aspirated engine; don't screw with that! ...If I had a 1LE, that's what I'd do (again).

Look under my car is cursed post , a detailing shop ruined everything by giving me a free interior coating to make up for bad exterior that had to be redone , it has changed the color of everything and left residue smears and it can't be taken
Off ;(

Why add the weight, heat, complications?
If anything, since you're going to void your warranty anyway. Send your car to Katech and go with a stage 2 setup for around 9 grand.
600 HP naturally aspirated and no added weight. Plus you at least get a warranty from them for a year.
Of course if you do this. Don't forget you're going to (probably) have to upgrade some other components. But you'd have to do this if you go pro charger, katech, turbo...

Good luck with the interior hassles man!
