Is my warranty voided if I track my new ZL1?

Short answer...no.

Of course Chevy isn't replacing your ZL1 if you crash it. And it can't be modified in any way. Not sure if this includes a different wheel/tire set-up??

Anyway, thought this was an interesting read. Includes other manufacturers as well:

http://www.autoblog.com/2017/02/27/n...id-race-track/

Ford performance vehicles are covered but not the Hellcat or any other FCA vehicles. I wonder if this will include the Demon which is basically built for the strip.

In terms of damaging the car on a track day accident, read the fine print on your insurance policy. Most don't cover it. You can get track day insurance coverage like this.

Just to be very clear.

Track warranty coverage only applies to completely bone stock cars.

Glad to see a manufacturer put their money where their mouth is...shows confidence in their product.

Though, I'm fascinated to read that about Nissan...remember that crisis back when they had considered not covering GTR warranties if the driver used Launch Control? I guess they haven't let off much...

Yeah, and the new car smell still has to be present for warranty to kick in.

Speaking of track day Ins... Anyone interested in a new thread with that subject? I priced it out to $450 per day. That's not exactly affordable for a practice day, non-competition.

...I won't jack OP's thread though.

So, there is actually fine print that covers window tint? I mean, some old farts have this added as a medical script.

Man, we are picking the fly shit out of the pepper today??

~~~~~~~~~~~~
That was an interesting article for sure...I too was really surprised how some of the other brands don't cover the track. You would think that would have to be a deciding factor for some enthusiasts.
no, I'm just messing around. But Al O did say they would cover any track problems as long as the car was all stock, specifically pointing out that if any mods are done, they will know, even if its something as simple as a CAI, that they will know. Track days only tho, no competitive racing.
I've read on message boards of some cars blowing up and then denied warranty through Chevy.
That's my understanding too. I just had a steering failure. Wasn't sure if it was caused by the tint.
Kidding aside, I don't see the difference on honoring the warranty regardless whether it is on a track or not. I don't recall seeing that question on the service paperwork
