Bought last Saturday, 250 miles later...
And I cant believe just how wicked this car is. My last performance car was a 2008 Corvette with the Z51 package, so I was coming from a roughly 440hp car that weighed 3300lbs.
After a week in the 1LE I am impressed at how GM made a 3700lb vehicle with 460hp feel like it would destroy that Corvette. The power delivery, the handling and the confidence that the car inspires is very impressive. I can only imagine how much better it is going to get as the motor breaks in and loosens up some over the coming miles. To say that it has been really hard to not grab the keys to the Camaro every morning instead of the ones to my truck isn't a lie. The wife even said if I wasn't going to drive the truck she was going to park her Audi and drive the truck to try and reduce some miles on her car and I was like "OK"...lol Now to keep driving this car and get going with the planned mods and get my maintenance list completed on it over the coming week or two. |

I feel like all of us SS 1LE owners can't shout it from the mountain tops enough. THIS CAR IS FOR REAL IT'S NOT HYPE!!!!
I have yet to see an owner who wasn't blown away by this car. Not just satisfied, but blown away!!!!

I've had my car for about the same amount of time, and I couldn't agree more. I've only driven my truck twice since I bought the 1LE

Finally had some free time yesterday to finish up the first round of to-do lists on the car. Removed the "Camaro" badges on the fenders, washed and clay bared the entire car and then put a coat of Adam's sealer on it. Hopefully I can get some time this week to add on a coat of Adam's carnauba wax to it as well. I will say this, Nightfall Grey really pops when it is cleaned up. I think we made a excellent choice in this color.
Had some 3M Carbon Fiber wrap lying around so I wanted to see what the bowties would look like wrapped in black. They turned out pretty decent, enough for me to leave them like this for now so I can see if I really need to spend $100 for the replacement bowties. Just ordered the Roto-fab dry filter w/ sound tube delete CAI and the Mishimoto catch can, that should be it for now until I see what other must have mod bugs bite me down the road. The only other issue I have to deal with now is in regards to the hood. The OEM wrap looks like crap, it had bad staining on it that just wont come out so far. If I cant get it to look right I am toying with having my friend wrap the hood in the same 3M matte CF wrap I used on the bowties and then also paint the hood vents in a flat black, they just don't look right to me in the gloss black that GM sent them out in.

Nice, thanks for sharing. If I go 1LE it's either black or grey.. I'd do the exact same as you, remove the badging and probably replace the bow-ties.
Also maybe make the headlights yellow. Post more pics when you can! |
