Driving feel 1le vs SS with magride

Obviously the 1LE performs far better. I am wondering how much different the feel is compared to the SS?
Is the steering more communicative? Does the car feel lighter/more flickable? Brakes feel different?
The eLSD is a big question mark but I assume it only makes a difference in feel on acceleration.

For me personally, it brought the SS from "this is nice" to the 1LE "I have to buy this". The steering feel is better, the chassis composure is better, and the eLSD + PTM is transformative. The SS in Track mode is akin to the 1LE in Touring mode. If you're hardcore enough where that sounds like a good idea to you, then the 1LE is for you.

The package makes the car feel significantly lighter than the scales show. I'm coming from prepped track cars that weigh 2350 (MINI), 2218 lbs (Miata), and 1919 lbs (Exige S), so something this heavy feeling this good seems like a violation of physics, but it's how far technology has progressed in a few years. On top of that, the 1LE actually works on the street, something my prior track cars just can't admit to with a straight face.

Everything everyone said above is correct. The SS is a very solid performer, but the 1LE takes it to a whole new level! I had a 2SS as a loaner and you could feel the difference big time! Honestly the difference between the SS and the Mustang GT PP feels about the same as the difference between the SS and the 1LE.

This past saturday I got some instruction from SCCA Champ Darren Seltzer and I think his reactions in this video say it all. I think it's fair to say that was a very low speed technical course that was much more suited for small nimble cars. Even so Darren set the fastest times of the day in my car. The other cars consisted of stock and modified MX-5's, S2000's, MR-2, and a 500hp AWD eagle talon with wide tires!

BTW ever get that feeling where you can't stand the sound of your own voice on video? HAHA That's me right now! SHUT UP AND LET THE MAN TALK ABOUT THE CAR!!!

Just hit a nice sized bump on an on ramp doing about 55 mid-turn. Then you'll really be impressed. The car hits bumps with composure. Doesn't seem to upset the balance whatsoever. I think it has to do with the weight and the dampers. But the weight helps in this sense. All the bump did while i was going round the bend was shift the car over maybe a foot/6 inches. But it dug deep and kept going! Mind you i was on an on ramp that was rated somewhere around 15-20mph. Doing about 50-55 mid-turn and coming out about 60-65. Never upsetting the balance, that was key. It simply hit the bump, shifted over, planted itself and kept diggin. Awesome car

I can't get over the traction of this car...

Between the eLSD, the wide sticky tires, the suspension, the traction is very impressive. Things that would have upset my previous (full suspension) Coyote Mustang and would have made it lose traction, just do not do a thing to this car...

^^^^ This...

Was out on a ride with the wife tonight, turned the T/C off and from a 1st gear I rolled into and NLS into 2nd, the tires barely even moved and the car stayed planted the entire time.

:WHS: It's a big, fat Miata.

FWIW I was sold on a 2SS, thought I needed all the extras and then sat in and then drove a 1LE and that was all it took. Looking back I would not buy a loaded 2SS or any Camaro over this car. It's truly amazing. I've had much more expensive supposedly engineered cars and this out performs them in every way. Just get one.

I had a 2013 1LE and fell in love with that cars handling. It was amazing. Had a 2015 Mustang GT PP car. Installed the Ford racing handling package. Square 10.5" setup with 285 tires. I could not get that car to feels as composed as the stock 2013 1LE.

So I end up with a 2016 2SS with mag ride. Car is magnificent in the handling department compared to the modded
suspension GTPP.

So I've installed the Pfadt/AFE springs and 1LE sway bars. Added 20x10 and 20x11 1LE replicas. I have Nitto 555 G2 tires in the 1LE size. The car is even better now. I would be willing to bet that you put oem 1LE tires on my car, you would have a hard time differentiating the two cars grip and composure. I do give up some braking without the better brakes I'm missing, but the factory SS brakes are no slouch either.

In my opinion I've built damn close to an A8 version of the 1LE. Opinions may vary, but that's mine.

I still think while you are close, the Magnetic ride programming and the eLsd also add into the handling and give the edge to the 1LE over a SS that has added the parts to the car.

Slightly stiffer/more planted but not a night and day difference on the street. You don't need more than the non MRC SS suspension for a street car imo

So you guys are telling me that the 1LE vs a 2SS WITH MRC is a whole lot different.... I agree it will be more planted and tighter...

I think most are comparing MRC vs non-MRC cars- a hole different ball game. After driving a car with MRC I immediately felt the difference.....
