2016 1LT Rear Parking Assist Upgrade?

Any one know if the 2016 Camaro 1LT Rear Assist is able to get upgraded with a beeping sound??

For the second time, with this careless noobie parking/driving skills of mine, i bumped into another car parked behind me due to front parking and not thinking to look behind me or at the camera when i was backing up.

I'm really pissed at my self. but i know for a fact that if my 1LT RS V6 2016 Camaro had the rear parking assist that beeps, i wouldn't run into these issues.

any ideas? or is my only option to trade my 1LT RS V6 16 for an 2LT?
how much do you think i would have to add on if i bought my car during Feb 2016? i bought mine at 32k + 5% APR --_--

Thanks!!!

Thanks!
I am no good with cars like my computers.
How much do you think a ship charges to install these?
It sucks that 2LT easily has them. I hate tampering with a car especially if I got to drill holes.

Hi WessenS!,
did you check with your local dealership workshop manager? I guess they know the way to have the sensors added to the system and looking totally OEM..

See you!!,

Apologies for being "that guy," but no technology replaces looking where you're going. Regardless of whether you install the sensor or not, please develop this habit; the sensors are not fool-proof and it could be truly horrible if you backed into someone rather than something.

It is part of a option package on 2lt it's not standard.

But there has to be a reason to pay for a 2LT. That is one of them.

I wonder how much they'd charge if they'd be willing to do this

That was me. I justified the 2SS over the 1SS to my wife on the rear cross traffic and blind spot monitoring alone. I always look, however, with the limited visibility it adds to the piece of mind when backing up or changing lanes. We have a lot of motorcycles around here and it does a very good job at picking them up too.

You probably should msg Gen5DIY to see if it's even possible to retrofit the OEM system. I can almost guarantee a dealer cannot do it. There is likely a different HMI required and a good chance the wiring may not even be there for the rear sensors.

I'm hoping to retrofit the OEM 2LT/2SS sensors onto my 1LT RS, but I don't want to pay a shop to remove my rear bumper, only to find that theres nothing to connect the sensors to.

I've tried tons of aftermarket sensors. They all suck. Hoping to go OEM if possible.

Any body shop would be willing to add them. They will cut wholes in your bumpers, so there's no going back after that. Count on spending at least $400, all told.
