6le side splitter help

Just got these in and went to test fit them. It appears that they will cover the pinch welds? Can anyone that has these installed confirm this?

I have another brand and the lower inside trim line matches the trim line on the factory rocker panels. The pinch weld is fully exposed where it needs to be at the lift points.

Ok. Thanks for the response. I'll check it over better tomorrow then. Just got nervous that I was going to have to trim them in those spots

Post pictures when you get it installed if you don't mind, I have been wanting to get these but want to see them on a customer's car.

I have the 6le side splitters and yes it covered the pinch welds. I had to trim them so the the pinch welds were accessible.

Damn that sucks, what did you use to trim them? Any pics of them on your car? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for crappy pics. Only ones I can find that show splitters half way decently. Kinda hard to really see them on a black car.

I used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel after I installed them to gain access to pinch welds. I just marked them and cut them carefully.

One thing I did do was replaced the mounting hardware that came with them. I bought bolts washers and nylon nuts. I wasn't to confident in the small screws that were sent with.

Same here about the screws. Replacing with nuts and bolts. Just a comfort thing. Thanks for the confirmation tho! I'll be sure to grab something to mark the cut points

Not sure if this will help or even if these are fiberglass, but notching fiberglass can be done fairly easily by drilling a big hole in the corners first to create the corner radius (hole saw or Unibit) and then sawing carefully with a hacksaw blade. If you don't have power cutting tools.

They are abs plastic. But that is a great idea marking the corners by drilling a hole. Wish i would have thought of that. My cuts aren't that horrible but that would have made them perfect. Good thing they are underneath car and not visible. LOL

I have ordered the ZL1addons bolt on pinch weld lift points. Hopefully that way if it has to ever go to the dealer i won't have any issues with them putting it on a lift.

Thanks for the pictures man they do look great! It is good to know about trimming them in advance, thank you. I really want these due to the simple look and they look like the won't break to easy like other side skirts.

I installed these today and recorded a little bit of it. I don't have a tripod so my "how to" will kind of be clipped together. It's really straightforward to install these, but I did measure the cut points to clear the Jack pads (zl1-adons). Once I Finnish clipping it together it Will be in the how to section. Video form, and a diagram of the cuts to make.

Seems strange to me that they aren't already notched for the pinch welds.
