When Selling Car with Aftermarket FI

I was just curious what you guys, with years of experience, have done when you sell your vehicles with aftermarket FI. Do you:

1. Go private party
2. Trade it in at a loss
3. Remove it
4. Other

When I get mine supercharged I plan on keeping for a while but I remember someone mentioning that people immediately think that you beat the hell out of the car, even if you didn't.

If you can't tell, I'd plan for a zombie apocalypse if they were real.

I plan on never selling it at this point. My permanent hobby car. I like it that much.

I sold my old g8 with everything intact. I paid $26,800 for that car and sold it, private party, for $25,000 with 50k miles on it. The blower was free on that one, so I call it a win.

I have heard of some that remove the kit and go back stock to sell. Then sell super charger kit.

I too plan to keep this car for the duration. Having said that, id private party the car. Just don't be in a hurry. The right buyer will come along. They will expect the car to be driven hard but if they see you've taken care of it, a lot of those worries should be removed.

I sold my 1LE that had full bolt-ons as well as a cam and I got way good money for mine. Guy flew in from Michigan to buy it. They aren't sale proof they just require a special buyer.

This has been a very big deciding factor for me so far whether I want to put a SC on mine or just wait and get a ZL1. I say i'll keep the car, but I know I wont. I might keep it 3 or 4 years then i'll want something new. Thing is now I already own a 16 2ss so I wonder if I will lose more money buying a SC and then selling the car later or trading in the SS and buying a ZL1 and then in a few years trading it in or selling it.

Edit- Also waiting to see what Whipple actually puts down.

It's funny that you say that. I see these ZL1 guys beating the hell out of their cars. I wouldn't want to buy a used one of them for sure.
