If you had $1000 and want louder, what would your set up be?

I have a dual-mode NPP exhaust (on a 2SS convertible). I'd like to know what are some good options to get a lot more sound and still preserve the dual-mode function? I looked at removing the secondary cats, but I'm not sure a 10% sound increase would be enough.

Stainless works axle back with NPP valves is under 1K, that along with secondary cat delete should be significantly louder as long as you are not too sensitive to drone.

I've always wondered, would that be louder than NPP in track mode?

I will be doing the NoWeeds Exhaust Diverters very soon. These are different from the QTP cut-outs because the NoWeeds actually "divert" ALL of the exhaust flow out the diverter (nothing goes through the exhaust). The QTP, and similar cut-outs simply open another path, but a good portion of the exhaust still flows through the exhaust. It's a totally different sound! The only drawback....the NoWeeds are quite a bit more expensive ($895) than the others.

Please don't do cutouts. Just save a little while longer--I know how hard that can be at times but, do yourself a favor and get a proper exhaust setup.

I don't get it, what's wrong with cut-outs? They give you the option of being quiet as stock or loud as hell whenever you want, or depending on the model, anywhere in-between! A "proper" exhaust system, as it was described above, is different to every person. In my opinion, I like a fairly loud and deep exhaust system, like the Stainless Works Retro-Chambered System I had on my 5th Gen. Admittedly, it was a great exhaust system. But my neighbors used to tell me that I was their alarm clock every morning when I left for work at 6:00am. My new 6th Gen SS is quiet as a church mouse in Touring Mode, and with cut-outs (or rather diverters), I could make it loud anytime I want. I don't see the downside!?!?!

What! That set up looks sick, didn't even know that was an option, and my guess is that when the diverter is closed everything rides like stock through the muffler so you don't have to worry about drone or loudness until you want to go loud!

I'd love to hear this thing...

If I was spending 1000 bucks to make it louder, start with headers, at least that will gain you some hp. Louder exhaust won't make it go faster, its just louder. If its louder and you get out run by a car that make less noise what have your really gained. You still got out run. Make you feel better, NAH. Spend it on HP.

Second on that! I've been looking at the possibility of getting cutouts. I guess I don't get why they are a lot louder than the NPP open? Doesn't that bypass most of the muffler?
