Anyone not going to order/buy a ZL1 now?

I am just curious more than anything. I know the ZL1 is an all around great car. I know the hellcat is more straight lined oriented. That being said has anyone seriously stepped back and thought about canceling or not buying a ZL1 since the new SRT Demon is coming out? I am a straightine sort of guy. So I personally would be considering getting one. Just curious if there are anyone else out there thinking the same thing.

For me, since you are spending north of 60k, I would like to have a car well balanced between power and handling. Also, I have to like the way it looks. Even if the challenger has 800+ HP, it would not interest me because I am not a fan of how it looks. If you are spending this kind of money, you want to have a car that looks pleasing to you everyday. I think ZL1 has a good balance of everything I am looking for.

Even if price is a consideration, how much do you think that thing will cost? And I'm referring to MSRP, then we can possibly discuss ADM which was still ridiculous for the hellcats as late as last spring. It took quite some time for them to start coming down to at or below MSRP. I imagine there will be some "limited edition" gimmick being run by dodge stealerships for the first couple of years.

I agree with that general thought, however I think if the GT350 had the same 10 speed auto available, I might consider it. I've never been a Mustang fan, but the lines of that veicle are just pure sex imho.

Life is too short not to enjoy it. Get the ZL1, 2 years later, trade it in. 2 years after do the same.

If you want to pay a 10,000 or more adm. Some dealers are still putting adm on hellcats. I'll stick with the ALL new ZL1 at or below invoice. If Dodge doesn't have it on a new platform then it won't be worth it.

I've never been much on the looks of the Mustang, other than a few special ones here and there. The GT350R is definitely one of those special ones. What they did with the front body work and a few other smaller details, completely changed that car. I agree. It's pure unadulterated sex on wheels!!

Fits right into my motto. Life's Short, Live Fast! The only car that made me think about waiting in the least bit is the GT500 that will likely come out in a couple of years and will probably also have the A10 in it, with who knows how much power. They still need to hit the looks just right though and I'd have to be able to find a dealer that will order it on the A plan for me. I've liked most of the Shelby cars including the GT500s, so it could sway me, but I liked the ZL1 so much that I didn't want to wait. I mean, I can have one of the baddest cars around now, and if the GT500 ends up being better and I like its looks and packaging as good or better than the ZL1, then I may trade to one.

Not really. The demon sounds like it will be awesome, but coming from a 5th gen 1LE, I'm really ready for a smaller, leaner car, and the demon seems a lot closer to the 5th gen in terms of heft. I love my 1LE, but I'm glad they decided to make the Camaro a little lighter/leaner/meaner this go around.

If you're nothing but a straight line guy though, I'd imagine the Demon will be king.

For me it was between the new ZL1, or the new GT350r. Beautiful cars.

Either car has it's own merit. Both cars are cool as heck. One has a world class suspension and chassis and updated styling combined with function and the other is reasonably dated in style. You can take the upcoming Demon and use it as a family car or perhaps a long distance commuter which is also a strip oriented car. I'd be willing to bet that a guy who could own both would be one happy sob.

FMC admits in the most recent article I have read on the Demon that it is intended to do one thing well, straight line acceleration. With that said, if I never intended to drive my car on a road course or take a turn under throttle, yeah....I might reconsider. But since every drive I have ever had has had a turn at some point and every road course demands more than straight line acceleration, I will go with the more balanced car. #triplethreat

The problem is , all street racing is straight. curvy track days are far and few between in the real world. Most racing is light to light on the street for bragging rights.
