Hp Tuners support, hopefully a misprint....

anyone recently notice this?

Lists support for the 10-15 3.6L & 6.2L
Lists support for the 2016 2.0L, 6.2L
Also lists support for the 2017 3.6L & 6.2L

But nothing for the 2016 3.6L???

what am I missin here, how did we get skipped?

probably an oversight...

Last posts there seem to suggest it is working. I thought the big issue is that the 2017 TCM still needs to be mailed to be physically modified while the 2016 TCM is fine. Talking about the auto.

I've been tuning several 2016s with HPTuners for development of the Overkill tune. I'm going to do my first this week using my Autocal handhelds (same that I use for 5th gen V6 tuning) to ensure its compatibility.

Shame about the 2017 TCMs though, we have to go through the same deal with 2015+ Chrysler V6 ECMs.

I pluggged mune in this weekend and got an error connecting trying to read. I sent them the info file and they said it is now fixed just be online the first time read or write.

Thank you for contacting Support

Your vehicle is now added to the database. Please make sure you are connected to the internet the first time you read/write the vehicle. The new process for 2017 GM requires an internet connection for the first read/write. After that you do not need to be connected to the internet for future reads for the vehicle.

If I can send you a stock tune and log of a hard pull can you recommend some updates?

I just contacted ZZPerformance a local shop that dyno tunes mainly turbo and SC GM cars. They are willing to do a dyno tune for me in the spring with my HPTuners. They did my Cuze w/o a dyno run and was pretty impressive after that. No Wide O2 or anything used just the scanner tool logs.
I think A dyno tune is the way to go with these cars to get all you can out of it.

Here is the
email:
Right now we are planning on adding the 2.0T LTGs to the roster and doing work with them. The v6s will likely have minimal if any support besides a basic tune.

Thank you for your business,

always.... any fine tuning, will be via dyno or street tuning. canned tunes get you in the ball park. hp use dynos and street data logging. diablo has canned tunes, but you CMR tune for the most gains.

truthfully speaking though, the avg person, prob wont notice much difference though in a canned tune vs CMR/dyno/street. just with out engine size, output, gain potential.

are you all producing handhelds, or will there be a just computer/laptop option?

and whats the deal on the 2017 TCM's? anything like the 5th gen Camaro ECM's and diablosport...so many different part numbers used they couldn't decide on giving support, which they never did???

I'll use the Autocal handheld that I currently use extensively to tune previous generation 3.6s. There's no canned tunes on it, its a delivery system for my Overkill tuning service which is a custom tune for each vehicle, including the ability to datalog/scan and send those to me for review and revisions.

I'll also do tunes through HPTuners for those that want them or have them, I'm an authorized HPT retailer, but the handheld is a nice user friendly way of delivering the tune and having the ability to flash to different tunes or back to stock with a few button clicks.

Its a security thing. There's a computer challenge code for the ECM that you have a small process to go through in order to read it out, but the TCM must be locked down tight. The 2016 TCMs read just fine though, I wonder if switching 17+ TCMs to 2016s will become a thing unless there's another solution found.

I'll have Overkill tuning available soon. Gained max gain of 22 wheel horsepower at the top end, and that was fully stock including stock intake on 91 octane gas. As important though, this week I was able to do some extended driving and remapped much of the transmission part throttle shift points; normal mode is clean and less clunky due to better upshift points and automatic downshift points, and sport mode holds the gears even longer and will feel completely different versus stock. I also cleaned up some of the throttle feel, making it feel more responsive on initial tip in but also just cleaner, more natural feeling. Very pleased with how the tune feels to drive!

22 up top seems pretty consistent but what about in the 2500-4500 RPM range. I feel that middle pull is where the car needs the most improvement.

I'm hoping to get at least 300 rwhp. seems doable with the exhaust and a CAI.
