Weight difference...1SS vs. 2SS.

I know it's probably splitting hairs, but just out of curiosity...does anyone know if there's any weight difference between a fully loaded 2SS and a stripped down 1SS?

50lbs? 100lbs? 200lbs?

50-80lbs I believe. My 1SS with MRC weighed 3700lbs with a half tank of gas.

GM claims 3680 lbs for a 1SS but now sure how much fuel is in.. if you're had 1/8 of fuel which is almost empty, @ ~7-8 lbs per gallon then it will be around 3610-3640 lbs?

Not all weight scale is equal so let's just say +-10 lbs or so as a guesstimate if that.

How is that? If your 1SS weighs 3700 lbs with a half tank of gas and his 1SS (I'm pretty sure he has a 1SS)) weighs 3589 with 1/8 tank - how is that 200 lbs. different? Its more like 60 - 70 lbs in difference when you factor in the gas weight difference which probably is within the margin of error for the scales you each used.

I think the M6 will be lighter then my A8. At the LS fest mine weighed 3665 with a 1/4 tank of fuel. I'm not sure what extras the 2ss will have that adds weight, seats might be a little heavier with the leather. I don't know how much MRC adds either, but all 2ss models don't have that either.

If you read the thread the car had aftermarket wheels and tires, the real OEM weigh was 3575.

Looking back I took the curb weight of car and drivers test, which was a 2SS now that I think of it, and they say 3760. Right around 200lbs. My mistake, I assumed they tested a 1SS.

With an 1/8 tank my car would weigh 3675 on the same scale. His car weighed 3575. I think 100 lbs is a little outside of margin of error especially when I weighed the car on a commercial scale and those guys are sticklers.

I have a my 2SS (sunroof, leather, A8).

Just over a half tank on a semi-truck scale, it was 3700.

On a friend's calibrated race scales, with just a couple gallons in it, it was 3650.

My 1SS with NPP on 19" Forgestars and 1/3rd tank of fuel was 3569 on race scales. When I removed the tow hook from the trunk it was 3567, heh.

From the 2017 order guide specs section, both a 1SS and 2SS M6 clock in at a base curb weight of 3685lbs, and the 1SS and 2SS A8 clock in at 3697lbs. 1LE base curbs at 3747lbs.

I think the 2SS weighs as much as a 1LE so about 60-80 lbs difference.
