Anybody with hardwired radar and a cam?

I was just wondering how many people hardwired both a radar detector and a camera and what your setup looked like.

The trick is finding the ground and 12v wires in an overhead or mirror harness on the vehicle. Once that is known, I can, and have, made 2 way and 3 way Invisicords to power dash cams, bluetooth dongles for the Escort or V1, etc in a way that makes them very streamlined and easily tapped into that harness.

I haven't had time to pull apart my 2016 to find what is needed to utilize my Invisicord design though. Too cold now and I don't have a heated garage. :(

I know where the power is but was hoping to see how everyone had their cam and radar mounted. For example I planned on using a blendmount for my radar but where is a good location for the cam then? I'm hoping for the most professional look.

I don't have a radar setup yet but I do have a camera. I went with the Rexing V1 and hardwired to the mirror. I feel with the way this hugs the windshield it should leave enough room to mount the radar to the mirror.

Nah it was easy enough to just use the cigarette lighter for my dash cam. The cam turns on every time the car does, hasn't failed yet in 7 months.

I think I know what he's asking about...if the camera has the g-shock or whatever it's called feature, you want it to turn on if your car is hit but not drain the battery, right?

Correct. I was also wondering if you can use the same source for both and if there is room for both without making it an eyesore.

Takes a 15' power wire to route from the top to the console area, cam wire was barely long enough, but the detector wire is way too short, trying to work this one out right now on my new 2017.
Great cam setup, btw.

Just got my Blendmount today. Here are a couple pictures of my radar (Max 360) and dash cam (Blackvue) that are hard wired. I am not powering the radar or dashcam from the overhead lighting, I ran a separate power wire from the trunk up to the passenger footwell and thats where the radar and camera get power.

Thanks. What did you tap into in the trunk?
