Hi, I am a long time lurker here, many many years on the Corvette Forum under drlc5. I got rid of my 16 Z06 a couple of months ago actually was my 2nd 16 Z06. And now after a month of driving my 17 Rubicon my Silverado and the wifes Benz I need some real HP. After looking at vids and reading reviews I think this new Zl1 is the way to go? I want the new 10 speed auto trans, my Zs had the new A8 which was a blast and way ahead of the past auto trans 4l60. I am sure this new A10 will be a beast. When will it be available? To those of you who own the new Zl1 how does it feel compared to the past Zl1? I have driven a 13 or 14 Zl1after we ran a few runs. Looking forward to learning more about the new Camaros. Post up pics if you have them.

Wow, the C7z06 is a beast and looks menacing. Too bad it's priced way out of my comfort zone. What made you get out of it??

The Z06 is a beast and an amazing car. Liked it so much I bought two..lol. I go through cars way to fast have owned over 75 cars in my life I have car fever. But this new Zl1 has my attention and the new A10 from what I hear is a bad ass trans, I do alot of drag, roll and backstreet running so the A10 should be perfect for what I want it for. Also if it has Performance shift mode or trans mode? I forget what mode it is called, like the Z06 has it is perfect for roll racing. Looking forward to owning one.

yep, I'm doing exactly what you are. My '16, A8, Z06 was my 8th and last Corvette. Stupid fast but an absolute torture chamber for me at 6'3" 225 lbs with a 2XL upper body from years of training. The Corvette was excruciating after an hour of sustained driving and very boring with the A8. Sat in a '17 ZL1 and it fit like a glove, perfect. Should have one soon.

Couldn't agree more. Had 3 X Z06's and now my Z51 has the competition seats. While it has a ton of adjustments it's like shoehorning into that new shoe your ex bought you. Can't wait for these ZL1 Recaros!

Man you guys are nuts.. people only dream to get a C7 Z06 with the Z07 package! But, maybe it's different once you actually lived with a C7? This is not the first I read about C7 owners in general making a switch to a Camaro.

In my mind and most around here, the Vette is the big brother and a step up. I love Camaros and I def. love the ZL1 as well.. Just the menacing rear of the C7 is supercar-ish..

Anyways, can't really go wrong with the badass ZL1 either.. This is a ZL1 thread so my fatass with the lowly SS is making my way out haha lol

Yea, and I thought I was spoiled. No way would I get out of my Z06 and into a Zl1. But, everyone has their ways and I have catching up to do. I've only owned about 35 cars in my lifetime and I'm just now to the point to where this car buying is getting a bit out of control. haha. Been looking at the Zl1 vs Hellcat Charger. I just sold my Silverado so. Next month, I'm buying something. I just don't know yet. Been looking at the NSX's as well. We have too many choices nowadays.

I loved my C7 Z06 at first. 8 mos later when I realized that I was avoiding because it was so uncomfortable I knew it was time to go. Fastest car I've ever owned. It is a very purpose built vehicle, just a little to focused for me. Very tight interior.

I have a Z06/7 and buying a ZL1 and don't plan on selling either on of them.

Well Carlos Largo did the handling test for motor trend and said it was like a bag of bricks with a jato rocket attached. He mentioned that even though he would prefer a M6 he did still like the a10 in manual mode. He spent most of the video giggling like a school girl with how the transmission just seems like it is always in peak torque.

I have a c7 z51 as well (SS is my winter beater haha). The ss is basically the same car, more comfortable, less driver oriented, and no large removable roof. Strangely I find the vette trunk more usable. If thats what you're looking for, buy away. Welcome!
