How are the Ventilated Seats
So this is my first post here, I'm looking to buy an SS soon and i'm trying to decide on 1 or 2SS.
The biggest deciding factor would be to have the vented seats or not. I convinced myself I wouldn't buy something new without cooled seats since I'm always hot and live in the worst climate ever. Do they actually cool your whole back? I've only ever sat in the ones in the GM trucks. Also what does everyone think about the cloth vs leather? I think I've decided that the 1LE and NPP options probably are not worth it to me considering their price, I'm not really interested in the handling or breaks. From what I can tell there wouldn't be a huge performance difference in the NPP exhaust either. Anyone else regret not getting a 2SS? |

They are not good. No A/C connection, just spun up air that is weak at that.

I like them. I have found I feel them best when I make sure that the a/c is blowing to the feet, I think the fan in the seats grabs that cool air

Mine work VERY WELL, NOT perfect, but I am happy with Mine. They take a few min. to start working, and on a VERY HOT day, with the Top down they are well worth having, There is also a number of other things that come with a 2SS.

The key word here is VENTED, not cooled. They feel good for a minute or so then I don't notice them any longer. I'm sure there is more to a 2SS than the venting.

Like others said they are ventilated, not cooled... the blower just gets ambient air from underneath the seat. With that said, I wouldn't want a car without them. My back doesn't sweat at all when they're on and it makes a big difference after the car sits in the sun for a while - the ventilation cools off the seats pretty quickly if your ac is on.

I too think they work pretty good. Never had them before, and haven't used them yet in real high temps. But in about 80 degrees so far they cool ya down quite effectively. Never had a car with all these bells and whistles before, and must say I am getting spoiled.

Go for a 2SS there are too many amenities to pass up like blindspot detectors, HUD, etc

That's what i'm thinking. I can't find a solid info on just how much the 2ss package is. I'm also wondering if GM has published weight numbers for the 1ss compared to the 2ss it looks like we just have a published base curb weight for the ss. I'm thinking any weight difference should be negligiable, I woulndt think there is anything in the 2ss that would make it weight significantly more.

Like many have said here, they are ventilated. I love mine, my first car with them.
But check out all the other differences between the models. I had to have the 2SS personally. Go check them out at the dealer & take them for a spin. Good luck with your choices! |
