Npp manual SS. Shifter vibrates?
Noticed this at idle and at some speeds too. Is this normal? Also this one did not do the skip shift to 4th. No matter how slow I shifted out of 1st. That was a welcome surprise though I'm confused why it didn't as it's a new car.

I think a little vibration here or there is normal. Mine has an annoying buzz coming from the shifter area sometimes when pulling medium to hard above 4k rpm in second or third. It goes away if I put my hand firmly on the shifter. I cant find anything loose though.
As to skip shift - it engages from a dead start in first gear when the speed hits 15 mph and then disengages above 19 mph. So if you shift on either side of that range the skip shift does not engage.

The shifter is suppose to vibrate and make some noise at times. It is directly linked to the drivetrain. These are nothing compared to an aftermarket shifter...with less isolation, they make more noise and transmit more vibrations.

So with regards to skip shift....so if you don't shift to 2nd between 15-19mph, no skip shift? That's pretty cool. Makes sense I guess I never was in that range b/c it never engaged. I tried to shift to 2nd at a crawl in the parking lot and it wouldn't engage. Makes sense now. |

If you ever do some engine mods that require a tune the 1-4 skip shift feature can be turned off while you (or your tuner) are modifying the tune. That's what I did for my 5th gen Camaro. But I am not tuning this one so I just drive around it. You can also buy and install a skip shift eliminator plug in but the access for it on the tranny is really tight and hard to access. I'm not messing with that either.
