1LE eLSD pics

I put my car on the lift today and was checking out the eLSD. Seems pretty robust!. I'm not sure if the regular SS has a iron center section but the 1LEs do.

Yup it is beefy as it has to hold up to the Z06 and ZL1 with their added torque...

I see the SS 1LE has a different part number for the right side axle, I hear it is a little shorter than the regular SS due to the eLSD. Hard to see in your pics, but does it look any thicker then a regular SS right side axle to you?

I don't recall seeing the iron section on my Z06 transaxle diff.. Will need to look again.

Good info. Thanks for posting pics.

Possible that may slightly differ due to the rear mounted transmission. I did compare the SS 1LE and ZL1 part numbers for the whole center section, they are the exact same.

I have never seen a regular SS axle so I cant compare the two.

Valid point. Maybe someone can post a pic of a regular SS right side axle to compare, I can't find a good picture.

The SS 1LE right side axle being shorter alone is a good thing...shorter axle = stronger axle.

Is the 1LE driveshaft steel or aluminum?

It sure does...plus all the noise issues the regular SS diffs are having shouldn't be an issue with these.

...now all we need is a right side axle comparison.

Curious if when they made it shorter if they made it any larger diameter too.
