Blind Spot Assist issues

Has anyone experienced issues with their blind spot monitoring? On the way home last night mine kept flashing and staying lit with no cars or objects around and I couldn't see anything that would disturb the sensors. It wasn't detecting the opposing traffic in the video because it was doing the same thing on a two lane road with no traffic.

Mine did that too when I was driving down a back road, I just thought it was the rain and stuff on the side of the road (at least on the right side that was blinking every couple of seconds as opposed to the left that would do it less).

I haven't had much seat time in my 2SS though so I don't know if it's a constant issue to have had it checked out.

Same, this one only has 2k miles on it. Did it only do it the one time?

I'll try that before making any other moves. Thanks for the suggestion.

When it's raining, mine constantly go off when there's nobody there. otherwise, they're good. Wish there was some way to fix the rain issue causing them to go off.

Same here. When it's raining, my drivers side goes off all the time. The passenger side rarely works even on the nicest days.

That I've noticed, With having my car for only 3 weeks I've only been able to put 300 miles on it (clear bra took 2 days, now they're repainting half the car [so far on day 13 at the dealership/body shop]). The 1LT loaner I have isn't equipped with the blind spot monitoring system.

As a former Service Advisor (different car company) sensors on the bumpers such as back up warning sensors, cameras, etc would have temporary issues after rain or car washes. Not until it was completely dry behind the sensors did the issues go away, which sometimes took a few days. Try a blow dryer or CAREFULLY use a heat gun and see if the problem stops.

This is my first car that's ever had an issue during rain with any warning lights. Seems to me that GM should use just a little better build techniques/parts next time.

Experienced the same issues with the drivers side during rain the other day. Sensor continuously going off with no vehicle in the adjacent lane and very annoying.

The radar used for the side blind zone is not the parking sensors. So cleaning the parking sensor (sonar based) will not help. There are several things that could cause this. The #1 being water. Really any objects over a couple inches tall and less than 6' off the ground, within around 11' from the side of your car and or around 10-16feet behind it can cause this. With your blinker on this imaginary box extends back around 200' for the lane change alert feature. If it blinking during rainy or wet situations really bugs you (does me) you can toggle off the rear cross traffic alert in my link. Turn it back on when the rain is done...
Try to remember this feature is object detection. Used during rear cross traffic alert, blind zone alert, and lane change alert. It is a simple radar looking for an object. The manual even warns you that is may illuminate the light at times for guard rails, shrubs, etc...

Update. There is a system calibration for the lane alert system that is supposed to fix the issues with erratic operation in the rain. The service technician was not aware of issue until I brought car in and he did some research. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

Thanks for this... Mine did this once today for about 2-3 minutes. It then seemed to go away. I'll watch if it continues. For me it was not raining, and at first I thought it was just detecting the large trees in the median, although I drive this route everyday and never happened before.

It wasn't the trees because it continued for a couple minutes after with no traffic in site.

Has anyone else had this and applied any sort of fix? Since my last post, it has happened again, but only in the rain - although it's everytime it rains for me.
