Will you be doing additional modifications down the road? If so I would invest in HP Tuners. HP Tuners standard is $499.00 and will offer far more capability than the Diablosport product will.

Tim - Does that 499 include any tuning credits?

I have never used HP tuners so I cant comment. I do know the DS tuners do offer support for custom tuning as well. Plenty of tuners use CMR in the Dodge, GM, Ford community. I think what attracts people to DS is the simplistic canned tunes. It requires zero knowledge to upload and use the hardware. Also their customer support is great from my experience. If you add mods at a later date, you can pay someone to custom tune it.

Does HP Tuners have any canned tunes? Does it require a laptop to review logged data? If I buy HP Tuners for $499 would I then need someone to provide a custom tune before I get any use out of it?

Im just trying to make the best decision for my needs. I am definitely glad more options are becoming available. I may give the DS tune a try. I already know of a good CMR tuner who has a ton of experience with GM applications.

I had one for my 04 GTO and it made it more fun to drive, but it didn't do anything to my 1/4 mile times. I would always go for a more complete tuning capability like Tim does.

Diablosport tuning for 16 SS

I have being doing some research. You wouldn't be able to tune for flexfuel with a DS tuner. That is a deal breaker for me. I am also getting a quote for a cam & heads package. If I go that route HP tuners is definitely the way to go.

Yes it does come with credits. It would be $400 for the tune. I will not limit the number of changes for a given combination. The tune is unlocked.

The real question is can GM tell if your car has been tuned with either system?

One benefit from the DiabloSport tuner is that it allows you to go back to stock at anytime.

HPtuner can too and much quicker. It is the falsh counter on the ECU / PCM that can't be reset.

I've got a Diablo Trinity and their 93 octane tune in my Charger. The device actually can be used on any car they support but only one car at a time. It was probably the best canned tune out there for the Charger, but I can't speak to the Camaro yet. I have a friend who's going to try it soon. I'm running a custom tune in my Camaro that was done with HPT and it cost $100 less than what I paid for the Diablo Trinity. Anytime I buy a modification, I get a free re-tune.
