Homelink Button Lights

Quick question for you guys. Do your three homelink buttons light up at night? Mine are as dark as can be and very difficult to find when it is dark outside.

Thanks. This is a little disappointing. Time to figure out a mod.

It would be cool if they were synced up with the spectrum lighting.

It would be. The best thing I can think of is to piggyback off of the ambient light that is in the overhead console. I need to find a donor used part on eBay to play with.

Now that is interesting. I need part numbers. From the looks of things, the homelink buttons are straight from the GM parts bin and are used on multiple vehicles. Anyone have a parts diagram for these cars?

We just traded our 5th Gen in for a new 2017 2SS

One of the complaints I had with the 5th Gen were those Home Link buttons impossible to see in the dark.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the Home Link buttons on the 2017 had little lights on each button.

My 2017 2LT/RS has a little light on each one of the buttons that stay on all the time. When you press them, a little red light comes on.

Must be a 2017 thing because my 17 SS buttons are lit. My 10 and 13 didn't.

I'd be interested in the part number if you get one......might be cool if I can make this work for the 5th Gen.....I hate not being about to see these buttons at night as well.

Can one of you whose homelink buttons light up at night post a pic of your overhead console at night with the buttons lit up? My dealer's service department swears they have checked multiple cars and they do not light up. Thanks.

Tell them to check again... I have a 2017 2LT/RS 50th Anniversary and I just went out to look for you. I don't use the Homelink yet, but will be buying a house next month and will program the garage door opener so I am now curious about this as well. Here are 3 pictures that I labeled so you know what you're looking at:

I opened the car door and sat down to take pictures:

I then started the car so the dome lights went out:

I also pushed button 1 to make sure it was functional (though not linked to anything yet):

Hope this helps. I'm not sure if the overhead consoles have any differences on LT/RS/SS models.
