New AFE Cold air Intake is installed
Just installed the cai from afe and i was surprised. I could really feel a difference, mostly in the higher end, it doesnt feel like its not moving. Anybody else going to grab it?
Heres a link to a youtube vid of me installing it. Gunna try and find a time to take it to the track to really test it out. Maybe try and get some 0-60 times. https://youtu.be/wW0SY76HKT8 |

Installed mine 3 weeks ago man what a differance. A lot more throttle response and torque the only problem is my engine light came on when the temps got into the 40s it's showing codes p0171& p0174 lean on banks 1& 2 called afe and they are checking into it. They said another person from Oklahoma had theirs come on too, have to see what happens. Other than that it is awesome it still runs good no other problems. Going to put the plug in it to see if it makes a difference.

It's probably been asked and answered here before, but as a noob, does anyone know if this will void the warranty? I don't really care, but I'd like to know anyway. I saw a few people mention it in another post but they kind of went back and forth on whether it would or wouldn't. No solid answer.

I will have to ask them once I decide on doing this. I assume the same applies to exhaust system upgrades?Honestly, I just assumed anything I do will void EVERYTHING. We shall see. Thanks! |

I had the check engine light pop on too. I didn't get a chance to scan it because I discovered that I hadn't engaged the lock on the maf wire. The connector felt like it was seated and locked in place. I unplugged the maf wire and then plugged it back in making sure it was solidly seated and engaged the lock. The check engine light disappeared after about 10 miles of driving.
P.s. I had been driving with the intake installed for a few weeks.

After the cat, everything is pretty much done and an exhaust from the catback shouldn't cause any hiccups or lean conditions. As always, check with your dealer first and I would say a CAI have more of a chance to cause a lean condition than an exhaust. |

I checked all my fittings and they seemed ok these clamps are hard to tell how tight they are seems like you can tighten and tighten and they just keep going so I gave it a couple more turns on the clamps and checked the other fittings, reset my light and ran it the temp outside went back up in the 50s and 60s stayed off for three days then the temp went back down in the 30s and 40s and it came back on. I didn't reset the light and just drove it and it went off after 50 miles. The temps been staying in the 40s during the day and 30s and 20s at night. It stayed off for a couple of more days and then I was it line at the bank and idling for awhile and it came back on then drove it another 50 miles and it went back off so in my opinion it must be teetering on the lean limit when it's cold. I couldn't put the plug in because I misplaced it so I had to order one it will be here in a couple of days. I'm still going to try that and see what happens. I know everything is tight the maf sensor plug lock is locked and I even bought some maf sensor cleaner and cleaned the sensor because I was told that the filter might of had to much oil on it and got on the sensor but not the case. AFE still hasn't got back with me either.
