Mods: power and costs
So what kind of mods would it take and how much power can be expected to get gains of about 80whp? I don't want any suggestions about induction or nitrous.

That's going to be tough. It seems intake, throttle body port, tune, etc will add some but not sure you will get a full 80. Those things all add small amounts because GM did their homework.

My ported IM/TB, tune, RF CAI were worth 47rw on my car. I am adding EFI Tuning's E85 next. That should just about cover it. You could try a cat delete as well.
You are looking at $575 for IM/TB, $440 for the RF, $450 for the E85 kit, and possibly up to $600 for the tune going through EFI Tuning.

To achieve peak RWHP gains approaching that level you will need
E85 ported intake manifold LT headers Tuning After that you may need to look for incremental improvements ported TB cold air intake The other path would be to explore swapping camshafts. That used to be a pretty easy choice but the labor involved on the LT1 can ruin the bang for the buck factor. Here is a link to the gains on my personal car so far. I will be adding our ported TB and manifold in about a week or so and providing dyno results. Headers will follow hopefully in December. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=468070 Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you, Tim Last edited by EFI Tuning; 11-19-2016 at 07:32 AM. |

Tim makes a very valid point. Headers are key. I was thinking simple bolt ons. The ported TB and CAI would be the finishers. I suggested them as an every last bit deal without doing headers. Attached is my before and after graphs.
I have read about some AFM cams being worth up to 40rw but the labor is really expensive for the new LT platforms.
