Matte to Satin hood?

So I need some input. As you all know the hood is matte black but ALL the accents (mirrors, front splitter, and wing) are all satin. I took my car into a friend who wraps locally and she asked if I wanted to change it?!?

I'm on the fence but she did mention that the matte color is similar to a chalkboard and will catch a lot of scratches. Just a note I detailed the car yesterday and had light scratches on it this morning! Anyway, I think I'm pulling the trigger but I'd like y'alls two cents. Thanks!

Sorry I can't reply from a Gen 6 standpoint, but the 5th Gen had a satin hood and I can only imagine how a matte hood would have been even worse to deal with. Not sure what she will charge you, may be well worth it. I think I would try my below suggestion and see how it works before dropping more $.

I used Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte to protect my wrap and it worked wonders for making it a smooth blemish free surface. Always the last to wash, the first to dry and apply MM at the end like a wax treatment to paint really.

Thanks ST, I didn't realize the 5th gen had a satin finish. I'll shop the matte protectants later today.

The 5th and 6th gen hood wraps are the same matte finish, it just looks more "matte" on the 6th gen due to the other parts being more satinish and you are comparing vinyl to paint...

Either you mean to say 'satin', or they are in fact not the same.

There was a 5th gen 1LE parked right next to a 6th gen 1LE at the last GM performance event I was at, they looked like the exact same wrap to me...the GM specs even call it matte black on the 5th gen 1LE. It looks different on the 6th gen as the other parts are satin black, not matte black as on the 5th gen. It's an optical illusion.

I understand, and can find just as many publications calling it satin. I don't mean to derail the thread or imply you or anyone is wrong. I just know that my 1LE hood was in fact satin. Maybe I got a mistake 1LE from the factory(happy mistake).
