Maggie install opinion

I consider myself fairly mechanically inclined. I do my own brakes, wheel bearings alt changes things of that nature. Never really dug deep as far as taking an intake off, although I can't find it very hard to do. So on a scale of 1-10 I would probably rank myself a 5 or so handy enough to get around.

I also seen some of you take it to someone to have done, what's your take on doing this yourselves. I know they say 10-12hrs. however, I have all winter. I just don't want to get into a pinch and be screwed to where I can't drive it to someone to finish the job. From what I understand the Balancer is pretty hard to come off, and could be the most difficult part of the install. Thoughts??

I've installed two TVS's. It's doable with the right tools. There isn't any part of it that requires anything drastic

Not sure about the Maggie's lower pulley setup, but the E-force replaces the stock lower pulley and that requires a stout puller. Pick up a fuel line tool/kit, they're cheap, to separate the fuel lines. Other than that, it's just nut and bolts. You should do fine with the skills you have. Figure double what they say time wise, depending on the help you have around you.

Magnuson also has a very well done installation guide with very good pictures. Take your time, follow directions it is not a difficult installation.

Magnuson provides an LT4 Damper / Balancer with their kit.

If you are concerned about the warranty they offer, then you have to have it installed by a certified mechanic or no warranty.

Calibration is a bitch....just a warning, it's probably going to consume as much or more time than the install itself.

Does anyone have the maggie install manual? Would like to go through it first as I am asking the same questions. Also is there a specific list of mechanics that must perform the installation for the warranty or only an ASE certified mechanic?

Will the Maggie fit under the stock strut tower brace?

I had to edit this after looking at a picture - I'm pretty sure the two little bars are still there.

Also I highly doubt that the GM strut tower brace accessory that they sell will fit over the SC. Don't worry, I don't think it does a whole lot in this car. I doubt it's worth the extra weight up front. It's definitely not like the rear-end and I'm personally not noticing any difference.

Fairly certain it will fit. I actually saw a picture with a Maggie installed and it looks like the stock strut tower brace is indeed installed over it. That's good because I have a convertible and I am fairly sure it is added for rigidity.
