Exhaust for V6?

So I know there's a few options out there, and I was wondering what sounds the best. I've heard mixed reviews about the MRT. Any input? Think I want to do just axle back for now.

I have the GM/Borla made exhaust, very happy, not the loudest but a great tone all the way thru the power band, no drone, also no hassle from any dealer on warranty.

I did the magnaflow resonated x pipe with 2.5 pipe all the way back deleting 2nd cat, stock resonator, adaptive valves and mufflers and it puts a smile on my face anytime I drive it!

Glen

I'm curious if you have noticed any "performance" increase out of the GM exhaust before you removed the cats as well as after.

No.....however with the Afe intake, I think the two are synergistic, and I do have a low-end torque increase.

There's gonna be about 50 more Posts like this before june.

What's "best" is up to the individual. Everyone likes a different sound.

It's like asking, "I wanna get married, what's the best woman to marry? A redhead, a tall girl, a girl with curves, a brunette..etc etc etc..."

There's never gonna be a definitive answer.

Different exhausts make different sounds, and we all like different tones.

Take time, do some research and find what YOU like.

there isn't a best, but there are plenty of options for everyone.

I'd rather give you a realistic answer, than a bs ploy to get you to buy something I bought. Please don't be offended

What is your definition of drone?

If it is reverb caused by any part throtttle exhaust....then the MRT v1 has plenty of that.

If it is reverb caused by cruising exhaust then the MRT v1 has very little.

Essentially, if you like talking in your car to your passenger or they like to talk to you in the car while driving around the city/town then dont buy the MRT v1 exhaust.

I look at that as a feature though. I like not having to talk while driving. The MRT v1 sounds angry and that's the only thing that needs to be speaking in the car.

My sister has the magnaflow axleback and I have the magnaflow resonated x pipe with everything else deleted. They both sound very good in my opinion. Slight reverb/drone on mine around 2700-3000 but very mild and with the A8 it never stays in that rpm range much at all. I will be doing some video of mine this weekend and will post

Are the headers that come with factory dual mode exhaust and the regular exhaust the same? (V6)

The 'headers' are incorporated into the head itself, its really more of a down pipe with catalytic converter from the looks of it. Best I can tell both are the same 2.5 tubing but I'm sure somebody can chime in if I'm wrong.
