How much $$$ to install lowering springs?

So I've called 2 shops and gotten prices of $895 and $625 to install lowering springs. How long does the install take? Any recommendations for shops in Long Island, NY?

Springs are pretty easy to install if you wanted to do it yourself. If you have a jack and two jack stands you can do two struts at a time. the hardest part might be removing the stock springs from the strut but you grab the tool for that from an auto parts store.

If you are set on going to a shop; then I'd say it could be anywhere from 550-800.. Go searching for that local mom and pop shop thats been owned and run by the family for 50 years or whatever they'll provide quality work and they aren't trying to retire off you.

$250-$300 should be the rate. Takes 1.5 hours max + the cost of an alignment.

Springs should be removed carefully (struts too) You can hurt yourself if you don't know what your doing. About 250 is a good price plus a 4 wheel alignment.

Those prices I quoted were just for the labor! I've got a relative that's been a mechanic for 20+ years. Time to give him a call

My Chevy dealer quoted me $460 for install & $140 for alignment. I got another quote of $600 for install & $100 for alignment. Who is installing these things for $250?

Yeah they have done a great job for me. I had them put on shocks, springs and tires over the years. They do an amazing alignment as well.

Not "just a tire shop" I guess

I'm in Socal also. PM me the name of this place. I like compiling the names and locations of reputable shops in case I ever need any work done. So far, it's helped along with the information from these forums. It's invaluable.
