From mustang to camaro?

Hi, im new to the forum and this is actually my first post. With that said i have a 2015 base gt pp mustang and i was wondering if anyone on here has made the switch from a S550 to a 6th gen camaro, and if so what are there reasons for making the switch and was it a good decision

Faster and more refined...sounds better, looks better......

But most of these are all subjective views. Maybe you should go test drive one.

I made the switch myself. Had a 15 GTPP with all the options and traded to a Hyper-Blue SS A8. The Camaro is just better at almost everything IMHO. The only thing I miss about the Mustang is the 6-piston Brembo brakes, which you can get in the Camaro. I did not opt for those brakes thinking since it had Brembos all-around it would be good enough. After having the 6-piston brakes in the Mustang, I really wish I had the upgraded the brakes in the SS to the 6-piston option as in the 1LE, ZL1, etc.

I love the A8 transmission in the Camaro, I love the magnetic ride suspension which you can only get in the GT350 in the Mustang for now, I love the dual-mode exhaust. Overall, I love the handling of the Camaro. I feel confident when I push it in the turns. In the Mustang, I was always waiting for the rear end to come out at any moment and that took the fun of a spirited driving away as I was not trying to drift. My SS offers so much grip in the turns I'm afraid to push any harder.

My biggest fear was the visibility that everyone who doesn't own a Camaro typical complains about. It took me 5 minutes to get used to it. The car also has the rear camera and blind spot detection sensors (my Mustang too) so that takes a lot of the guess work out.

Thanks for the info, i appreciate it. If i made the switch i think i would also be interested in the a8. For me the camaro is tempting, but idk if i could swiing the extra money they cost but who knows.

As above; test drive a SS and no need for any more comparisons.. ENJOY the drive.

Drive it and decide. I think the Camaro is a better car all around minus visibility.. I hate the long hood view on the new Mustang though. I owned a 2013 GT and have driven an S550 GT PP and 6th gen Camaro multiple times.

I didn't own an S550; but I did own a '12 S197.

For me:
- NPP dual mode exhaust
- Heads up display
- Mag Ride
- 60+ more lb ft of torque (in stock form)

I did drive 2016 versions of all 3 (Stang, Challenger, Camaro) extensively, prior to deciding....
I was considered a "Mustang Guy", but I'm glad that I made the switch!

Good Luck.

I had a 2015 Gt premium, last Mustang I will EVER own. I also hated the long hood, thought I would get use to it, but I couldn't. Felt like I was riding high, my hands were always in the sun and that I was in a fish tank. Thought the lower back of the car looked stupid. The steering wheel felt like cheap rubber and the seats were not wide enough in the shoulder region. Probably more, but I try not to think about it anymore, one of the worst decisions I ever made in reference to a car.

For me was easy, performance and price aside... I CAN'T ****ING STAND THE RETRO CRAP SHIT UGLINESS OF THE MUSTANG INTERIOR. PLUS YOU HAVE TO SIT IN THAT SHIT FOR OURS AND LOOK AT THAT PANEL.

I just sold my modded 2016 Mustang GT (base, auto) - but I got a 2017 STi.

However, my wife got a 2016 SS (red tag deal) and it is much better than the Mustang. I like the looks of the GTs a lot better, but other than that, the camaro seems to beat it in every way

You are wasting good money by switching cars, the 2015 GT is a really nice car. You will take a MASSIVE financial hit on the mustang and whatever mods you did to it, then buy a Camaro at a dealer and pay fees once again.

Ive driven and owned both - its not worth switching. You can easily mod your way to whatever end goal you have. You can improve HP, grip, handling etc with a few changes. Its really more about cosmetics at this point.

I grew up on mustangs, but think the Camaro is more fun to drive overall. I prefer it over the Corvette Stingray, Mustang, 370Z, Challenger and Charger (owned all 2013-17). I am the King of wasting money - dont be me!

Idk, im in my gt pretty well and my mod list isnt to big. Anything i put on the car i could sell and put factory stuff on and this red tag event chevy is offering is tempting especially the extra $2000 there supposedly giving mustang owners right now
