Car noob, few questions
Got my first camaro the other day and I'm loving it so far. Been enjoying looking around these forums to see what everyone has to say. You see I was out of town when my parents found this killer deal on the car I bought. I kind of just gave them the green light without knowing too much about it and the more I look into the car the more confused I am. Now I know it's a 2012 V6 automatic but I don't know much about what it really is. The whole LT SS LS thing has me a bit confused, if someone could help me identify the difference between them it would be really helpful! I did get an RS package with it so I'm happy about that :^)
Also, again I am new to cars in general and was wondering if switching the transmition from automatic to manual was a realistic option or would that cost too much. I want to start tinkering with it and modding it so I can really get to know it as well, thinking of new exhaust systems. I always loved the look of a camaro and decided to save up for 4 years to buy one instead of getting a trashy car. After getting it I wish I knew a lot more about it than just loving the looks of it. Thanks for any help! |

Swapping out the tranny is definitely not worth it.
LS is the V8 6.2 SS is the super sport, V8 All V6's get the RS moniker. LT is the base level for options.

The LS is a V6 not a V8 and not all V6's got the RS package.

Welcome to the forum and to your new Camaro. There is a lot to learn here so use the search option and take you time. My only advise is many, many guys mod their cars so you always need to take that into consideration when getting a response because you might find the 5 answers you get might be appropriate for that cars mod.
Good luck. joe...

Not to hijack the thread, but....
At what trim level do the 21 inch black and polished lip come into play? That's what I have ( 2SS/ RS) on mine, and I love them, but buying tires is a bit** at $550 a tire. |
