ZL1 wheels

If Chevy will not offer two separate wheel designs, why not at least give the option of an all black version? Not understanding the grey wheels and how they work with all paint schemes like the gen 5 wheels did. Those black wheels were a home run.

This would save me so much money and the pain of having to take the wheels off and have this done myself
Anybody recommend a good wheel paint shop in North Texas?

If the lack of wheel options is a cost saving exercise on their part, I'm all for it. I agree options are great, but they are dark enough for me to not worry about changing them, and I'm all about black wheels.

You think they're dark enough, huh? I need to see one in person and hope I come away with the same conclusion; however any color close to black, but not black just seems wrong with that beautiful black carbon fiber hood insert. Although on the Silver Ice it looks good.

yeah, to me they are a dark gun metal gray, but i agree, seeing in person is the best to inform an opinion. I bet they closely match up with the exposed carbon fiber insert, which is nice.

I for one hated them. Until I saw Beckys pics of the delivery production vehicle today.

They are not that bad ...

I'm gonna wait until it arrives in person then make my decision.

Don't think paint will cut it. Powder coating would be the way to go for a gloss black etc. Not sure how expensive tho. Maybe just better off to pick up some new aftermarket wheels from someone like MRR.... My .2c

Anyone who doesn't like their ZL1 wheels should have no problem finding someone to buy them.

Couple of thoughts.....

....In photos with flash - they look a medium gray, almost bright....They are not.

The color of the wheels is more accurately represented in distance photos. Like this...

It's a deep, dark, gunmetal gray. Metallic effect, too...
However, they are NOT black...if that's where your heart lies.

It's an expensive paint job, chosen by the designer to afford the car a little more of an "premium" look than last generation. And, boy, it works...especially when paired with an exposed CF hood vent.

Same size just as before except now the tires are the same size front and back,
285/30/20 fronts & 305/30/20 rears on both cars now.

I have an extra set of the polished ZL1 5 poke wheels I would be willing to trade anyone who don't like or want their new design factory ZL1 wheels. Just let me know.

I'm having similar quandaries. I'm about to order the MRR 017 wheels for my red hot w/exposed CF hood. I cannot decide on their gloss black or gunmetal. Ugh. I like what was said about the 'more premium look' with the gr.wheels. Maybe I stick to that story.
