Warranty affected by K&N Performance Intake ?

I'm getting ready to order the K&N Performance Intake kit 63-3092 for my 16SS and i was wondering if the aftermarket installation will void the manufactures warranty? please advise, Thanks guys

Cancel the order and go with the Rotofab.

Take it off before dealer visits if you are going in with powertrain issues.

^listen to this guy

K&N is unproven junk. Tim (TSloper) is our resident tuning expert and has personally tested the Rotofab unit. If he recommends it, you want it.

I concur with the above. The K&N would be near the bottom of the list when shopping for a CAI. You can leave it on for routine maintenance, but as mentioned, if there's anything engine related, you'll probably be better off if you reinstall the stock airbox.

interesting to hear the remarks about K&N intakes. Is there some unbiased reviews out there with factual data ? I don't mean to discredit options, but every fabrication /manufacture has their claims as to why their product is superior. Thanks again guys

I'm not pitching Rotofab based on some personal emotional preference. It is the only intake out there, that through real world end user logging, we know does not skew the MAF output. CAI and Mishimoto both skew the MAF readings which will cause you headaches if you pursue further bolt on modifications and do not tune for the situation.

If you feel compelled to burn new ground it's your choice but just looking at the photos of the K&N it is already inferior.

Rotofab has been out for a while. It sounds like the website needs an update.

Not sure where you saw that.

FYI: You should browse the LT1 section

I suspect that all of these will produce little if any benefit over the stock intake with a drop-in high flow filter once the ECU has adapted to the change. These days with NA engines, CAI's are less for power and more for sound and looks since the stock intake is already a CAI.

The results were on the first page. It wasn't about dyno numbers or comparisons to other units (which there are separate threads for). TSloper posted hard data about how it affects the MAF readings. But you are right, CAI aren't good for much power anymore, but they do once you start adding other items and tuning.

I've said from day one that I don't expect much from a CAI on a stock engine. And I still have that mentality. On a modified setup there will be without a doubt a benefit. The more significant the mods there greater delta you will see between stock and the aftermarket CAI.

My only concern on this thread is keeping someone from make an unwise purchase for technical reasons. Rotofab does not screw up the tuning nor will it hold you back if and when you start modding.

I previewed the Rotofab 2016SS product on their website and could not find any dyno data ? Is their any manufacture published data available -vs- stock intake? thanks again
