Clumsy me made a chip on my paint

First let me say I was trying to beat the sunset when giving my car a wash.

Ended up making a chip on my paint

So.. I'm online reading/watching/learning how to fix this chip on the paint and was looking into ordering a kit from Dr.ColorChip.

Does anyone have experience with them? also, when I looked up my vehicle, the only color they have is called "Son of a Gun Gray Metallic" code WA139X/G7Q... Does anyone know if this is the right color for Night Fall Gray Metallic?

Go Dr. Colorchip. Their NFG matched perfectly.

Problem is, I put in 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, and NFG does not show up as one of the colors, instead, there's a "Son of a Gun Gray Metallic" which I have no idea if that's the same as NFG.

Would you recommend the basic kit? Squeegee method? or paint brush?

This is how I would go about touching up the paint.

I have a few chips I need to attend to, I'll be using Larry's method.

Don't feel bad, my grill nose has a paint problem, it keeps peeling. Taking it to the dealer ... again tomorrow.

Son of a gun grey was the early internal GM name for nightfall grey metallic.

I have used Dr Colorchip before. Perfect paint match. The names are funky because they tend to use the internal code name instead of the marketing name. Just get the paint code from the sticker in trunk, where the spare tire would go if we could have one. Use that code to match the NFG, and order the kit. I have mosaic Black but they call it Black meet kettle metallic, which is paint code GB8. Yours is probably G7Q, look for that code on the sticker in the trunk.

I use the paint brush method, works fine.

Most color names have an alternate name. Nightfall Gray comes up as Son of a Gun in our paint computer. I've mixed it, it's a perfect match. As long as the paint code is the same, it's the same color no matter the name, as the code is what determines the mixture.
