Alternative for wish-I-got-NPP...
I got a deal I couldn't refuse on my RS V6, but one option that it is missing is the dual mode exhaust, and it sucks... I loved that sound!
Is there anything that's out right now that sounds similar, maybe even with a switch for the valves? I'm new to the Camaro, so any help or a link to another discussion that I missed would be great. Thanks! |

you can just order the rear fascia from chevy and then order whichever quad exhaust system that will fit for the gen 6 v6 camaro

I know Borla makes an aftermarket NPP, but I'm not sure if it can replace a stock non-NPP. I think PolynesianPowerhouse can answer that one

The Borla NPP system requires that you have the NPP system from Chevrolet (They have to use the factory flap system to work). I would change the diffuser (rear fascia) to a quad system and then order your aftermarket system with quad tips.
This will give you the appearance of NPP and depending on the muffler type, it will also give you the sound similar to NPP. Checkout Borla Atak or Flowmaster Outlaw for aggressive sound. Or Stainless Steel Works also has great systems to show "Quad" exhaust. Choosing the right system is a personal choice so go listen to videos and pick the one you like best. On my 5th Gen LS3, I got the Borla Atak system and videos don't give it justice it is loud. But you need to compare the different ones, pick one that will make you happy. Some of the companies listed above do not have systems out for V6 Camaro's but are working on releasing something soon. Just keep an eye out. |

Well, I'm looking for a system that has the valves switchable via the switch, as I'm deathly afraid of the drone... I commute 30 miles each way at a pretty good clip, so I really want to have a way to keep it civil unless I decide to push it.
I've definitely been doing my share of Youtube listening! |

Was about to say... if you switch the rear valance like someone said, you can add a NPP exhaust and wire up, like another pointed up, a NPP switch setup like they did on the 5th genS and call it a day.
Or if you don't feel the need to constantly switch it back and forth, just get an aftermarket exhaust
