Borla ATAK Catback w/ Factory Connect

Why can't you buy the ATAK/S-Type catbacks with a factory connect option, so we don't have to cut our factory pipes?

They make you buy the whole cat-back for $2146.99 and then make you buy the OE connector (2nd cat delete/factory connect) for $287.99. So you're pretty much paying for the front section that comes with the ATAK, that you wont ever end up using.

I really want the Borla. But the SW comes with the factory connect and is over $1k cheaper.

TL;DR - We need part #140688 to come with part #60626.

I dont think that it does. In the photo it doesn't show the factory connect. It shows the one where you have to cut the pipes after the secondary cats.

EDIT: If it does, they should fix their photos.

Yeah it's confusing. I'm not sure. I guess the best thing to do is email them or pm Lisa.

Yeah...I don't understand why they don't just sell a kit that comes with the factory connect. I mean, who wouldn't want to avoid cutting their factory pipes

Also, the 60609 doesn't come with the resonated x-pipe like the ATAK full cat-back comes with.

I checked. The instructions show them cutting the factory pipes right after the secondary cats.

It is gm's design of the exhaust that requires the cutting. It is not Borla.

It's not gm's design. The factory exhaust is a slip fit on one end and a flange on the other, and it removes without cutting. You can buy the "factory connect" pipe from borla, which attaches like factory. However, it doesn't come with any of their exhaust systems, so you'd have to end up buying it separately.

Take a look at the Stainless Works exhaust that comes with factory connect. No cutting.

Sorry for the confusion but we do offer a complete cat-back that mates with the factory connection WITHOUT any cutting.

We designed these systems in a modular fashion so you can mix and match axle-backs and Mid-Pipes/X-Pipes

Mid-Pipes/X-Pipes 60609 and 60606 mate with the factory connection and do not require cutting.

https://www.borla.com/products/camar...rt__60606.html - With AFM

https://www.borla.com/products/camar...rt__60609.html - Without AFM

You can add the ATAK or S-Type axle-backs to either of these X-Pipes/Mid-pipes to complete the Cat-Back.

Important to note that the factory connection point is in front of the secondary cats so you are removing emissions control devices by using the factory connection point which renders your car federally illegal for use on public roads.

That's why we recommend using an X-Pipe/Mid-Pipe that is a cut and clamp behind the secondary cats because that configuration is street legal.

We have every configuration possible for this car so if you can't find what you're looking for try this link - https://www.borla.com/chevy-2016-201...geurl#CamaroV8

Or, just send me an email at davidb@borla.com and I'll help you find the configuration that's right for your needs.

If you retain all the cats it requires cutting. That is an issue with gm's design. I installed the system myself. I saw this first hand.

Heres a question David. WHY on gods green earth, is a catback for a pony car $2150???? Please I would love to hear how you arrived to that number. Thats more than the most expensive long tube headers I could find.

This is a really great reason to pay the $895 and just get the NPP. Then if you need, get long tubes for similar money and actually get more power with your sounds. I WONT be purchasing borla thats forure. When did CAMARO TAX start????

I do agree that system is expensive and what is holding me back from purchasing any system yet. But the borla rep probaly was not the one who came up with the price for it.

Ah, I see what you're saying. I am aware that if you retain all cats that it requires cutting, and yes, that is GM's fault.

However, I was talking about the factory connect that deletes the secondary cats. I should've been more clear.
