Catch can level after 6K miles

Just a FYI post. This was the fluid level in my Mishimoto catch can at 6K miles (Mobil 1 5W-30 Extended Mileage). It was about an inch below the bottom of the threads.

I let it go that long to see how much would actually build up. It really wasn't that much. My oil level was fine.

What volume of oil would you say that is?

When I poured it out it really wasn't that much. I'd have to measure the can to calculate it.

I have about 5200 miles and put my can on at about 600 mile mark I have emptied it twice and both times have had what I would estimate to be about 3 to 4 tablespoons of oil. That's enough to tell me there is an absolute need for one on the car. All that oil oil would have otherwise been ingested into the motor. Let's not forget these direct injection motors do not get to take advantage of any detergents added to todays fuels that normally help keep the intake valves clean. I'm happy with the fit and function if this Mishimoto setup.

I don't have a catch can. Please excuse my ignorance but where does this oil end up without the catch can? Is it burned off? My oil level is nuts on after 4800 miles total, 4000 after oil change with Mobil1 synthetic.

It ends up traveling thru the intake manifold and into the combustion chamber.

Dumped mine yesterday after doing a post break-in changed to Mobile 1. I put the can on around the 300 mile mark. So a little over 1000 miles it has been collecting. Was surprised it got as much as it did. You can see how dirty it is compared to the factory oil I had just finished dumping in the pan.
