Would you join the Imperials or the Rebellion?

You are on the planet Hoth and are approached by recruiters for both the Rebellion and the Empire in the same day. You must join one or the other. Which side would you join, what position would you want, and why?

Note: for the purpose of this question, you CANNOT be a Jedi or a Sith.

I encourage you to post evidence on why you think one side or the other is good or evil, and to support your choice.

Given that Hoth is a planet entirely covered in ice and snow....I sorta doubt there'd be random people just walking around and would be a pretty poor candidate for recruiting purposes. Now Tattoine on the other hand, does have a fairly sizeable population to try to recruit from.

Sorry but the premise requires me to already BE in the Rebellion or the Empire. Hoth is not a planet I'd just be on. Either I was there as part of Echo Base, or I'm part of the Empire, and I was sent there to neutralize Echo Base. No Academy recruiters are hanging out on the street corners. If I'm there and not part of the Empire, I am automatically part of the Rebellion.

I know, I know, everybody hates the logic guy...
