So my clear Euro spec marker lights arrived...but problems!

Thanks to member opelaner from Germany, I was able to source the clear marker lights using his VIN from his car. However, there is a major problem...they're only reflectors! The hole to accept the bulb from our US cars isn't there!

I suppose I'll have to cut that part off both marker lights and epoxy the hole side to my clear lights? If it was just a round hole, no problem. But it's made in such a way to lock in the bulb socket and keep moisture out. Unfortunately, the angle of my picture doesn't really show the issue I'm speaking of, just a notched hole. Any other suggestions?

A little bit of careful work with the dremel and you will be good to go! What's the part number? I like those!

trace the outline then scribe it....then the dremel....

You can try adding a gasket but do you need it?

Of course the hidden part of the hole from the angle of my pic is where it's at least 1/8 to 3/16 deeper to accept the bulb socket. Just tracing a hole won't work..

Oh those are nice.. Yeah if you have parts numbers that would be cool.
And yeah, a stepper bit to make the hole and then a Dremel for the notches and it would be perfect.

Yeah I'll pull one out again. I honestly didn't look when I quickly took the pic that the wrong side of the hole was pictured.

Ah didn't see this post at first. What if you used an LED that was not as long to save that little bit of room?

The clear lens is a separate piece from the grey base, no? Put it in the oven to soften the glue and then separate (like most do with headlight mods).
If that doesn't work, I would cut the base (the base of the bulb socket) off the original housing, cut the grey blank socket off, and then gorilla glue the original socket to the grey base.

Yep.

Draw it in Sharpie.

Dremel it out. It'll work fine.

So I looked at it again when I got home from work and it looks like the deeper parts of the hole are just stops to keep the bulb socket from rotating and falling out of the lens. I guess I'll chance it and try to cut the hole opening first on one of them.
