Water intrusion recall
Program Title:
Water Intrusion to Fan Module Connector Program Description: Certain 2016 model year Chevrolet Camaro vehicles, equipped with a V6 or L4-Turbo engine (RPO LGX or LTG), may have a condition in which water can migrate within the forward lamp wire harness and intrude into the fan control module connector and can lead to connectivity loss and terminal corrosion. If a customer experiences this condition, an SES light (DTC P0480 and possibly P0691) can illuminate. In addition, if the loss of the engine cooling fan operation is not corrected, the condition can lead to engine overheating or engine damage. Repair Description: Inspect connector and ground terminals for presence of water or corrosion. Clean and add a sealant and a patch, or replace the wire harness and/or cooling fan module or assembly if necessary. Program Status: INCOMPLETE So my question is, I never drive my car in the rain, it seems to me they won't find this problem if I take it in. I don't want to discover it when I am caught in the rain on a long trip.

I took my car to the dealership today to have this looked at. They are going to replace the harness and the module. They said it would take about a week to get the parts and about 4 hours to do the work. They said they will give me something to drive so I don't have to sit there that long. I love it when they do that because they give me my choice of any used car on their lot. Right now they have a vette there.

Car is in. They gave me a darn Chevy Trax for a loaner. I looked up the specs. The thing will do 0 to 60 in 9.5 seconds. Though Car and Driver gave these things a good review on everything else.
