Quick question?

Friend just got a Porsche macan s and is convinced that he would win around the track. I know the pdk transmission is the best in the world but either way with both cars being stock I would think the horsepower/weight difference would be enough. Really not sure here :iono

The Porsche is blazing fast....for an SUV! My father just bought one. Not in the same league speed and performance wise as my SS. Yeah, even with AWD and PDK,...not close. In a snowstorm, the Porsche has it.

Your friend obviously doesnt know his SUV's specs. SS will outhandle that SUV.

The Macan S would have it's hands full with the 3.6 V6 LGX Camaros, let alone a SS.
He obviously does not know your car or anything about his CUV/station wagon.

This is old news man, most ppl don't have a clue about automobiles and performance. Your gonna get this once in a while.

Gonna race him tonight in Mexico haha. Best 0-60 I've gotten is 4 seconds flat. I'm not the greatest manual driver but I can launch it with some consistency. I ll let you guys know what happens.

Also another thing. My other friend has a Shelby gt500. Now I know in a straight line the Shelby is in another class. (More in the zl1 category imo) but I'm not sure about the suspension/handling? How far behind would an ss be behind on the track? I doubt it would win but I'm curious to know

Don't know what year this GT500 is, but these are the times of the two at Streets of Willow (both ran by Randy for MT).

I don't care what kind of voodoo magic Porsche can do with the suspension, brakes, engine, transmission, and weight distribution. An SUV has a higher center of gravity and is bigger, less aerodynamic, and heavier than the Camaro. It just is. Or else you wouldn't be able to fit anyone in the back seat or trunk. Ha!

No one has figured out a way to defeat the laws of physics. And they've been trying for hundreds of years.
