2016 owners have a newer FW for My Link?

Anyone with a 2016 Camaro have a newer FW after the last AA update? It seems that 2017 owners have a newer Fw, I confirmed with Super Sound, his FW is newer than mine and 4GLTE data service icons are now showing up and different. He also has Chevy App store icon. I was going to check at the dealer today, but just wanted to get my air bag issue fuxed and get out, plus Saturdays my dealer offers limited service like oil changes and basic repairs most times.

I got the air bag issue resolved, just a loose connector for the drivers knee air bag, but since nobody was really there, I didn't bother yesterday with asking about FW for My Link. If I find out the '16's are getting newer FW I will bring it back.

They should offer the firmware update as a download. Save it to a thumb drive, stick it in the port and voila..............update. GM needs to move into the 21st century.

Completely agree. Its waste of everyones time for a stupid update, any moron can do...err wait, the dealers f this up all the time.....LOL

Yeah definitely needs to be available for download for self install...doubt it will happen anytime soon.

Agree when our own cars can act as a mobile hot spot and do all kinds of stuff that our phones can do... Why not just let them download and update via usb it would be so simple... unless you work at a dealership apparently.

It can be new hardware too, so far in the Mylink components, (HMI) there is one # for 2014, then one for 2015 and 15 1/2 then one for the 16 cars, will look into it and see if there hardware changed for the 17 and get back to you guys.

Cool thanks...yeah that would stink if there is any type of hardware changes from 16 - 17.

We looked up the part # and there not the same for 2016/17 they may have moved things around and added more memory.

Could that be for PDR equipped cars? Would seem likely the reason to make a change for this MY.

Yeah that is what I was thinking...that stinks, software has to be similiar though, at least when FW is updated for '16.
