Service Air Bag Message

Got a Service Air Bag message today. Shut off the car and restarted, same thing. Will have to call the dealer tomorrow if it still shows up. I had this message on another GM vehicle years ago, was a airbag harness/wire pinching in the seat track, not sure if this isthe same situation or not.

Anyone remember what the wire harness issue in front of car getting wet issue was again? Thought about this last night, my car had it its first drive through heavy rain the other day, normally no rain, but I got caught in nasty thunderstorm on the way home from work the other day, next day is when the message popped up. Remember something with the harness not sealing right and causing these types of messages...will find out later on when I take it to the dealer, have an appt. this afternoon.

Let us know how it goes. I need to make an appointment to bring mine in soon too. Between the hard shifting into 2nd now, squeaky afm valves, the dashboard separating and the drivers seat falling apart near the top latch.

All went well! Was told. Loose connector on drivers side knee air bag, good to go now!

The hard shifting I had too, reflash of the ECM and TCM fixed issue, shifted better than day 1. I still have a slight squeak on slow down, they can't figure it out. Leaving it for now.

Good to hear. That connector you were referring was the radiator fan plug. Some reported it wasn't sealed properly and water from the hood vent would get in their and short it out.

I told them that and they said no, it was a different connector located on the drivers side for the knee air bag...who knows, they probably were talking out of their you know what! Lol. It says "repaired" on the receipt though.

Yep. Understood, I was just referring to that other connector that was causing radiator fans to short out if they weren't fully sealed. Glad is is all fixed.

Nice to read about an easy fix for a change. My air bag needed serviced once, but she is still the same way.

Lol
