Considering a new direction

So as many of you may have noticed 2016 Chevy ss is 20 percent off now. There in is the dilemma . Keep my 16 camaro ss or trade , it's a tough decision.

Why would you trade yours if the retail ones are 20 percent off?

Keep the Camaro unless you really need a four door.

The SS will not appreciate in value but if you keep the miles low/average it'll still be worth Mid 30's five years from now. GM really needs to put the LT1 in there.

Coming from a low mile 09.5 Pontiac G8 GT I'm a lil biased. I bought her new and traded her in last year. (She was 6 years young!) The dealer resold her for $23,999 and it was gone in less than a week!

(strong resale value)

I highly doubt it will be valued in the mid 30s in 5 years time. The 2013 models are listing around 30k right now, 2 more years will drop to low 20s. But I agree, stay with the camaro unless you really want a 4 door. Even though the SS's are discounted heavily, you will take a significant hit on trading of selling your camaro

Asking doesn't mean selling.

I too had a 2009.5 G8 GT...man I miss that car...I like the Chevy SS but even now the drivetrain and MyLink are outdated.

The performance of a SS is on par with a gen 5. To me its a step backwards in performance. Having a great running gen 5 (LS3) and comparing it to my gen 6, the gen 6 outperforms it hands down......

If the need for four doors is there, then okay.... Otherwise you would be unhappy IMHO.

They won't be putting the LT1 in the SS. They would have to engineer Zeta to be compatible with the Gen V Small Block's, certify it, etc. Considering the SS will be going away next year when Holden shuts down, don't think GM will be spending that money on an endangered car.....

Well in 5 years I'm gonna bring this thread back from the dead and we'll see who get's the last laugh!!!

I can see how a lot of guys with coupes wouldn't even consider any four door as a performance vehicle. When I was on the corvette forum most guys looked at the G8 GXP as a G6......

I've seen heavily modded Silverado/Sierra Duramax diesel crew cabs do 10 second quarter miles or better!!!

Happy 4th of July folks!!!!!!

But thats a 2014 in the year 2016... in 2019 you will not see the same car in the mid 30s.

Check pricing on a 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP with low miles. It's basically a collector car.

Alotta guys missed out on that whip brand new and the 2014 to 2016 SS is basically the same car with a nicer interior/suspension/bells and whistles hence it will hold it's value unless you put 100k miles on it yo!

At least in Australia and Europe the Commodore/SS has numerous hi-po engine choices
that make it a screamer and hellcat nemesis......
