Ipod cable

Just picked up my car this week. Is there supposed to be a cable for an Ipod? I know Ipod has now become old school, but I have an Ipod classic. Of course I can plug it in and play, but apparently I've found a couple threads where the Mylink screen shows what is playing on the Ipod and can be skipped. Unfortunately, those threads don't say if it came from a factory cable. I find it a little hard to believe it doesn't come with one, as my dealer stated, due to Apple Play and Android Auto. I'm going to another dealer if necessary because my present dealer is nice and fair, but for lack of a better word dimwitted. Help please.

My Camaro did not come with a cable of any sort. I also have an iPod classic, and used a regular iPod cord and plugged it into the USB port in the console compartment.

Mine is 160 GB and is nearly full. I found that the navigation was very slow, so I changed over to using a patch cord from the headphone socket and controlling it from the iPod instead. I should probably go back and try it the other way again. Maybe once it has read the menus in, it is faster.

No Cable included. Use the one that came with your ipod .
Going to another dealer will not help you here....save yourself the embarrassment..

Thanks for the response (especially after moving to this part of the forum). I tried my Ipod cable and it did show up on screen. I'm probably going to stream my phone anyway though since most of the songs on the Ipod are also on my phone. I do appreciate the answer though because on my 2012 Cadillac CTS coupe, the dealer forgot to give it to me and ONLY that cord would work on it.

Did you try navigating through album titles? I am wondering if yours seemed sluggish like mine did.

There have been a lot of issues with the USB ports. I'm not 100% sure if it will load an older ipod but I would think it should. Try messing around with the cable and ports. Flip the cable around and try both ports.
