Do I Have a Problem?

I have about 2200 miles on my 2SS since last oil change (work done at the dealer). I checked the dipstick and I am low about a qt. If the dealer did fill it completely, is that a lot of oil to burn in 2200 miles? I have driven it hard about a dozen times since the oil change (just punching it hear and there).

I have about 2000 miles since last oil change. Checked my dipstick a few days ago and I can't notice any change from right after the oil change.

Since you have no baseline after the dealer service you really have no idea if you're burning oil or not. Dealers are notorious for having no clue on the LT1's oil capacity.

Top it up and monitor usage.

It's surprising they would fill it to 9 and not 10. If there was 6 in there I would guarantee they misfilled it, but 9 they were so close.

Lubetech could have checked the oil before starting the vehicle.

I checked mine at 1500 and there was nothing on the dipstick. I had the dealer check it, and they did not find any leaks or recalls. So, they documented that it was over a quart low, topped it off and said to monitor it for the next 500-1000 miles. At this point, they are assuming that PDI did not fill it properly.

Rule #1 Never be surprised at anything the dealership does.
