Has anyone ran a 16ss with FI at a track? What 1/4 numbers and MPH?

There is actually only one forced induction car on the 2016 1/4 mile fast list. The fastest is a nitrous car, not really forced induction. Toohighpsi ran a 10.81 @128 mph using the Heartbeat PD blower and drag radials. I went to my local track hoping to put up some numbers that might challenge this and found that my local track has removed all sensors beyond the 1/8 mile. I did make 4 1/8 mile passes all very similar times. 1.80 60 feet (no spin at all on a tall M&H 325 drag radial) 7.7 @ 97 in the 1/8. My car is twin turbos and the turbos take a little time to make boost with a completely stock automatic transmission. He had significantly better 60 foot times and better 1/8 mile times than I could muster. I wish I had a close track with 1/4 mile sensors because my car comes on hard after the turbos are spooled. I think if I was running a shorter tire on this 2016 it would have helped the times also.
Your procharger should be good for about a 10.9 to 11.1 depending on tire and traction.

That is what I was curious about. I dyno'd 623 rwhp with just Procharger on their dyno. Then added headers with full exhaust, snow meth kit and a smaller pulley on the Procharger and 315 radials. Last night at Topeka I ran best 11.4 @ 124 mph. Granted the conditions where not optimal but was till hoping to be better than 11.4.

Launch is critical to having a good ET, I'm currently on the Hot Rod Power Tour and we ran at Royal Purple Dragway in Baytown, TX on Sunday - I was only able to run 11.2s there. Best 60' at Royal Purple was 1.80 launching at idle, where I had previously ran 1.55 launching at 1500-1800 RPM. Not sure if it was because of all the street tire cars running through the water that afternoon, or if it was because the new tires that we had put on the car. When I ran the 10.8's I was using a set of 305 nittos that were a few years old, I have switched to a new set of 275 ET street Rs which I thought would be better... Hopefully we will run the car again on Saturday at the Roadkill Nights on Kansas City, since I see you're in that area Sandkillman maybe we'll see you there!
With a centrifugal you're not going to have a bunch of extra toque at the line to get the car moving, in this case I would normally run a higher stall converter in the transmission to offset this low speed deficiency. With the PD, the torque is available, but only useful if it is put to the ground. We'll see how this works on Saturday, if I can't hook there then I will be going back to the Nittos on the car! |

. You'll need HP tuners - then you can remove a bunch of ignition timing when you are at the tree to dump heat in the exhaust and get the turbos spooling a bit earlier. Turbos will never have the response of a PD, but that might help you a bit to drop your 60'. Just don't get too carried away, you can make more heat than most pre-turbo exhaust systems can handle...don't ask how I know.Mike |

Thanks for the info, I'm really not looking to drag race the '16 since it is my daily driver. I just took it out on a fun drags night hoping to get a competitive time. My car was dead hooked on the M&H drag radials but pretty lazy out of the hole. I don't know what is available for the 8 speed in an aftermarket torque converter with more stall but suspect if someone was serious that would be the way to go. Good luck on the Power Tour. Jess
