Headliner rattle

Hey guys/girls! I'm loving my camaro...i just got it this week. I've noticed since day one that there is a rattle in the headliner. If I reach back and push up on the headliner (centre left to right and above the back seat) the rattle is gone. Anyone else experiencing this?

Good Morning carguy83,

Welcome to the Camaro family! I’m very happy to hear you’re loving your new vehicle, but I do apologize that there seems to be a rattle in the headliner. If you would be interested in bringing this to the attention of your dealer with additional assistance, I would be happy to get you into contact with the Customer Care team over in Canada. As we are best equipped to assist our customers in the U.S., the team in Canada would be in the best position to help you with any questions or concerns moving forward.

If you come across any other questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to ask!

All the best,

Angela O.

Ditto headliner rattle

I too have the rattle. Started 2 weeks ago and getting worse. At first just noticed when moonroof shade was open. Now also rattling with shade closed. Rattle is bad enough I thought originally it was coming from the trunk or rear deck. I too can press up on the headliner and it stops.
Guess I will end up going to dealer.

Haven't had time to go to the dealer yet.
Rattle is now noticeable at idle with radio at normal volume.

Add me to the list, no sunroof though. Stops when you press the middle by the back glass. Very annoying.

Anyone have this problem fixed? Looks like mine is coming from the XM/GPS antenna area. I really don't want to take it to the dealer for it but it is driving me out of the car.

We are sorry to hear you are also experiencing this noise concern in your Camaro, schwartzki. We understand any hesitation you may be feeling in visiting the dealership, however, we’re glad to get you in touch with them if you’d like.

Feel free to send us a private message with your VIN, mileage, full contact information, and preferred dealership name if we can help in any way.

ISSUES i am getting.. keeps adding up!!

for some unfortunate reasons... i get having these 2016 camaro issues.. FIRST my 2LT: GPS issues that i had to go back in the dealership for 3-4 times.. i ended up trading it for a 2SS... now, the 2SS: rear diff sound issues and this door/dash squeaking.. worst is, my first dealership that worked on my car had me waiting 4-5 hrs onky to tell me that the sound was NORMAL and that they cant change my rear diff fluids since the one they have is the same fluids as the one that comes with the car when you purchase them.. damn!!! makes me dont want to purchase another camaro AGAIN!!!... theyve gotta be kidding me!!! a car worth around 45 gran should ALWAYS pass QC and be released without any issues... frustrating!!!!!

Headliner replaced

finally got the headliner replaced 2 days ago. (Dealer broke the windshield while replacing the headliner) Day 1 driving was fine with no rattles. On day 2 the rattles are back. no different than before. Very irritating. Considering my options now. An old wise guy once told me to never trade cars when you are mad. Am having trouble with that right now

This is a tough one. The irritating headliner rattle isn't bad enough to risk car damage at the dealership, but the potential for windshield breakage does appeal to me since my windshield is cracked already. I could save my deductible. Decisions, decisions...

I'll probably just try to stuff a little foam behind it first.

Mine just started this recently and is VERY annoying. So it's not just the 16's. Will be finding my own remedy as I don't trust any dealership in this area, or in general to be honest. They will find any "out" they possibly can to make the problem fall onto the owners shoulders.

If the car has a moon roof and a headliner rattle it is always a good idea to open the moon roof and clean the glass seals and the roof seals. Not saying this is your fix but it has fixed mine.

Hey everyone, I had an annoying buzzing/rattling sound in my headliner near the passenger side sun visor. Drove me nuts lol.

My service advisor heard it right away so that was great.

If I remember correctly my paperwork stated:

Found foam block in headliner dislodged, reattached foam block. noise no longer present.

Been fine ever since.

Mine's doing the same thing except on the driver's side. Did they have to remove your windshield to perform the fix?
