Put in 10 Qts of oil

Just had the first oil/Filter change done at 602 miles. 10 Qts of Mobil1 5W-30 added but the dip stick indicates at the half way mark. Seems kinda off odd but I know for certain 10 Qts went in.

Take a level check in a few days… If it's mid stick, is perfect

Correct. Go eat some lunch, come back, and it should be readable.

Did you put oil into the filter first and let it absorb - because you can put close to 10 oz in before it fully absorbs and starts to fill up.

Half way up on the hash marks is perfect. In fact, as long as it reads within the hash marked area you're good to go, absolutely no need to be at the top of the range with a 10qt system.

I did exactly the same, used 10qts exactly, including the oil I primed the oil filter with and its right smack in the middle.

Priming the filter has no effect on the level checked after the engine is run. Perhaps, if you put the filter on dry then put oil into the motor to get a top hash mark reading it would have an effect but that's not how you change the oil. Once you've run the car for a few minutes then let it sit for a few minutes everything is stabilized which is when you get the proper reading, primed filter or not.
