Dealer installed stripe decals
Wondering if anyone has gotten the dealer installed center stripe or rally stripe. I'm wondering because I definitely want a stripe (center stripe specifically which are even harder to find), but there aren't that many on dealer lots. Obviously I could order a 2017, but wanted to see if anyone had it installed by the dealer. The Playbook lists it as an accessory and calls it a decal. I'm curious of the looks and quality of a decal as opposed to manufacturer painted stripe. Since I would be leasing, only manufacturer or dealer installed items will work so I can't go with aftermarket. Share your experience and/or photos.

The plant doesn't paint stripes on the car, they are decals either way whether they are put on at plant or at dealer. Sometimes the dealer can get you a better price on the stripes though. Or maybe you can even negotiate the price. The OEM stripes do not wrap around the panel hems (in other words into the gaps or cutlines). Some aftermarket decals do. This is what some folks don't like. Referred to as a skunk stripe, the oem decals don't wrap around because of wrinkling and therefore warranty issues. Quality-wise, there should not be any difference between dealer and plant.

Here are some dealer installed rally stripes. Got them put on for the same price as the factory installed stripes.

I am looking at having the factory Rally Stripes copied and painted on then clear coating them. Does anyone know what the exact color of the OEM Silver stripes are? I saw some on a Gen 6 at a dealership and the color is perfect for the Velvet Blue Metallic I have.

![]() I'm thinking of getting some form of gray/silver metallic stripes on my blue ray metallic 2014. Good reference point as well as some nice eye candy, thank you.

Can these decals be removed without harming the paint by the dealer?
