New ZL1/Z28 Video W/ louder S/C whine

Sorry for all of you who are still dreaming that this car is N/A, but this video was even more clear than the last ones. Both of the shots that the car is under acceleration and facing the camera you can hear the whine. It's really clear around 2:53 but I also here it at the very start of the next shot around 3:10.

2:53 looks like the exact same place that the whine was heard in the initial spy video, 3:10 is definitely a new spot though.

The 1LE also makes an appearance at the end of the video around 3:23

I'm sorry to disappoint the FI faithful but that definitely is not blower whine.

Wind or road noise maybe - but definitely not Blower Whine at either spot 2.53 or 3.10.

2:53 is the same clip from the first video. 3:10 is too short.

I hear it at 2:53, clearly. It's subtle, but definitely too high pitched to be road or wind noise...and I'm not "FI faithful"...

If you go back to the non-big-aero ZL1 videos...there's only one or two clips where you can hear the blower whine. It's fairly subtle, just like the last ZL1. Especially at a distance, and it appears obviously only when the car is coming right at you, no doubt amplified by the doppler effect. So far, I haven't seen a clip of the big aero car coming right at the camera...

I'm starting to believe a little more than this is a "stage package" to make the ZL1 even more track oriented...rather than a full-on Z/28...but there's just not enough evidence in any of these videos to pull me 100% one way or the other.

I'm certainly not FI faithfull, personally I would rather the car be N/A but I'm not letting my hopes and desires fool my ears. I was more excited about seeing a good shot of the 1LE in this video.

2:53 could be a duplicate clip or a new clip on the same turn. I do hear it more clearly there than the later clip, but both are easily heard to me.

I no longer believe this car is a Z/28 prototype, especially after Al O's comments the other day. I think it's clear that they are working on one, but this isn't it.

If not rushing the car to market means we are going to get something more inspired than a ZL1 with bigger tires and monster aero, then I take that as a good thing.

I think whatever they are working on the engine and drivetrain would have to be one of the first decisions made. Testing a car with a completely different drivetrain than what is planned to be made would be counter productive IMO.

I am going to say NOT FI according to my ears but I could be wrong.... I think @ 2:53- 2:57 is tire/road noise.

I hear the same whine I did in the early stages of ZL1 ring videos, many people did not hear it at that time either...

I'm going with, it is FI for the Z/28, and if so, why would it not be the LT4.

But one thing I know right now is...we just won't have consensus until official word from GM.

I still think the noises we are hearing is not blower whine. I'm still thinking a NA engine. It may be a while until GM lets us know what this will be. Probably not till first of next year.

I still fail to see that because it's FI it's just a "ZL1 with an aero package". We have no idea what's going on in that car other than a supercharger and camaro panels on an alpha platform.

That 5th gen Z/28 has to be a service member. Has Ohio plates on it. I wonder if we can track them down!!!

Sorry, the aero car just has a completely different "tone" to the exhaust than the ZL1. I still fail to hear anything at 2:53 other than maybe tire noise.

You haven't heard? There will be 3 ZL1s. A base model, a track edition and a 1/4 edition. The Z/28 will come out later.

Sounds like the blower whine my '13 ZL1 made. Definitely not "wind noise."
