Taking off front bow tie, impossible?

Hey guys, I was outside for 2 hours trying to remove this dumb front bow tie to replace it with the black ones I bought. I had no luck I tried tugging at it so hard that I thought I'd rip the whole bumper off, tried taking off the metal plate where hood latch is but that didn't help either. What am I doing wrong here?

Yeah the bowtie doesn't come off as easy as everyone mentioned. Under the hood i removed all the bolts holding the metal plate just enough whete i was able to get a long flat head screw drive in there to pry on the plastics clips. As im prying i was pulling the bowtie off

I removed all the following bolts n hood bump stops The green ones remember how they came off. It gave me about 1 inch of room to get a flat head screw driver or a long prying tool

That's exactly what I did. Maybe the flat head wasn't long enough though. Did you break off the tabs holding the bow tie? Or just push down

It was a real PITA to get the front bowtie off. I opened the panel, tried to stick the tabs but that didn't do much, had to end up yanking the crap out of it. Thought I might rip off the whole grill.

Did mine and while it was tough, I got it out intact with nothing broken.

Wow Now I'm glad I am having the dealer swap mine out this Thursday. I ordered the black ones from their parts dept. My car is red hot with the black rally stripes. Figured the blacks ones would look better then the gold ones with my color combo.

WD-40 is your friend when you're pushing these tabs out. I swapped out the rear valence on my 2012 and changed my bow ties frequently. The rear valence is a particularly large pita, but a little wd-40 frees plastic tabs up very nicely. Just makes sure to wipe down the area before you install your new bowtie.

Did anyone bother checking with a local body shop or the service manager at your local Chevrolet dealer before destroying your Camaro. It's like a lay person performing a surgical operation in a hospital. Ask directions from an expert not another lay person. Otherwise you'll get lost.
